A mother's incredible video has gone viral after she revealed her screaming baby can be soothed in seconds by a toy mimicking the sounds of the womb.

British mother Alex Claire shared a clip on Tiktok of her crying newborn son as she put him down for a nap.

But after she placed a glowing pink Ewan The Dream Sheep toy, which mimics the sound of the womb and heartbeat, into his crib, her baby was silenced in moments.

Other users were amazed by the clip, which has since been watched over 35,000 times on the platform, with many parents hailing the toy 'a lifesaver.'

She also explained she had been increasingly concerned about her baby's cries after trying other methods to try to help him sleep.

She commented: 'I tried white noise on YouTube and Spotify and it didn't work so I was a bit worried about buying this, but it really worked.'

During the clip, she could be seen filming her son as he cried and screamed from within his crib while she put him down for a sleep.

She then placed the £30 Ewan Sheep toy, which replicates the womb by playing soothing sounds, including actual recordings of the womb and heartbeat, into the crib.

Alex later revealed the incredible clip had captured 'the first time she had used' the toy with her son.

Meanwhile she explained the toy would stay on for a total of 20 minutes, adding: 'There's a setting once it goes off, if the baby makes a noise through the night, it automatically comes back on for another 20 minutes.'

Other users were amazed by the clip, with many parents praising the fluffy nightlight toy with one writing: 'Ewan is magic. My son, 10-months-old, and won't go to sleep without it.'

Another wrote: 'God bless that lamb.'

One tagged another friend in the comments, writing: 'BTW they're fantastic for soothing babies.'

A fifth added: 'They're magic! My 17-month-old wakes up during the night and turns it on herself to help her get to sleep.'
