This Japanese version, whose original title is Yurusarezaru mono , has been called Unforgiven for the international market, thus taking up the original title of the Eastwood film. While the action of the Hollywood version took place in Kansas, that of the Asian remake takes place on the island of Hokkaidō.

Note that in this Asian remake of the cult 1992 film, the main role of the outlaw goes to Ken Watanabe. An actor who had shot in 2006 in Letters from Iwo Jima under the direction of a certain ... Clint Eastwood.
