A woman has shocked TikTok viewers after revealing the rather bizarre topping she likes to grate over her spaghetti Bolognese - admitting she always has a hard-boiled egg on top.

The British NHS nurse, known only as Nurse Emma on her popular social media account, has gone viral after sharing a video of her unusual food combination.

She shows viewers how she grates a hard-boiled egg over her pasta dish, before also adding cheese on top.

But the bizarre topping left TikTok viewers bewildered, and others disgusted, with one writing: 'I'm sure this is illegal... if it's not it should be.'

French protesters demand trial for Jewish woman's killer

French protesters demand trial for Jewish woman's killer PARIS (AP) — Protesters in Paris and other French cities on Sunday denounced a ruling by France’s highest court that the killer of Jewish woman Sarah Halimi was not criminally responsible and therefore could not go on trial. Thousands of people filled Trocadero Plaza in Paris, in front of the Eiffel Tower, answering a call by Jewish associations and groups fighting antisemitism who say that justice has not been done. Other protests took place in Marseille, Lyon, Strasbourg, Bordeaux and elsewhere. The announcement that the killer would not be sent to trial sparked outrage among the French and international Jewish community.

Speaking in her video, which was posted four days ago, Emma said: 'Right, so this is something that people tell me is weird...

'But I wanted to come on here and do this to see if anyone else does it. I grate egg on top of my spaghetti bolognese.

'I haven't seen anyone else do this, so I thought I would finally get an answer and see if anyone else does it. Does anyone think this is strange or is this normal? Please let me know.'

More than 88,000 people have since watched the clip, with it receiving more than 3,000 likes and hundreds of comments.

Several people were quick to label the combination 'illegal', while another wrote: 'What?? No... I grate cheese on top of my spag bol.'

However, others weren't totally against the idea, as some even confessed they plan on trying the unusual topping.

One follower asked Emma to share how the concoction came about, so in a follow-up clip, she explained that it was a family tradition.

'Basically my dad brought me up with this, so this was normal,' she said. 'His mum did it and it's been passed down the generations, so until I had done this video I hadn't realised it wasn't normal.

'It was completely the done thing in our family. Have you tried it?' she asked. 'And also I don't just put the egg on my spaghetti, I also have some cheese.

' It's such a good combination and I could never imagine eating spaghetti bolognese without it,' the nurse concluded.
