But both cars were disqualified after failing post-race inspections, giving the victory to third-place finisher Chase Elliott. They issued a statement about the situation and acknowledged the issues with the cars driven by Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch.

Jason Blum offers an update on the production status of The Excorcist. Blum is breathing new life into the beloved supernatural horror franchise based on the 1971 novel of the same name by William Peter Blatty. The upcoming Excorcist film serves as a direct sequel to William Friedkin's 1973 movie. The Halloween reboot trilogy director David Gordon Green is helming the movie off a screenplay he wrote alongside Peter Sattler, Scott Teems, and Danny McBride. Blum is producing under his Blumhouse Productions banner. Universal Pictures has scheduled The Excorcist for a release in October 2023.

Currently, plot details on The Exorcist are scarce. The franchise's demonic antagonist Pazuzu is expected to return, with rumors swirling that Jamie Lee Curtis might voice the character. Other cast members for The Exorcist include Ann Dowd (The Handmaid's Tale) and Leslie Odom Jr. (Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery), with actress Ellen Burstyn returning to reprise her role as Chris MacNeil from the original 1973 The Exorcist movie. For a while, news about The Exorcist has been slim, though now details are starting to trickle out.

Jason Blum has shared an update about The Exorcist with Variety. The horror maestro reveals that he is getting ready to start production on the movie. A particular start date wasn't specified, although Blum stated that he will apply the same formula to The Excorcist as he did for the Halloween movies, packing the film with proportionate doses of freshness and nostalgia. Read what he said below.

“We are getting ready to make it. Hopefully, we will do the same thing with ‘The Exorcist’ that we did with ‘Halloween’ – make it in a way that’s fresh and worth revisiting. And feels different enough so that people are happy we did it.”

While Blum's new comments offer a promising update, they might seem a bit vague to franchise enthusiasts who have been anxiously awaiting a new installment in the film series. Interestingly, although the core cast is yet to start work on the movie, actress Burstyn has already completed production on her parts in the film. Because of the actress' elderly age and the risks posed by COVID-19, the studio wanted to film her scenes first, and by February, she was able to wrap up production on her end. The full scope of Ellen Burstyn's involvement in The Excorcist is not known, but considering she had completed filming so early, her appearance would likely be limited to a cameo.

Best Anime Movies On Netflix

Best Anime Movies On Netflix Gearing up for an anime binge on Netflix? Make sure you queue up these anime films.Compared to series, anime movies can be harder to come by, particularly if they are not produced by a company like Studio Ghibli. Netflix's selection of anime features provides an accessible entry point for those who have yet to dip their toes in Japanese animation, along with making it simpler for fans to track down new and older movies.

With a full year to go before release, the movie still has plenty of time. Although, considering the filmmakers intend to spawn a trilogy from The Exorcist, it would be wise to finish production sooner than later. This would give plenty of time for marketing so that both loyalists and new fans become fully aware of the new additions to the franchise. Blum and Green were preoccupied with Halloween Ends as of late, but now that they are through with post-production, they finally have the time to begin work on The Exorcist. Following this update from Blum, more details on the project are surely coming soon.
