Jason Blum has shared an update about The Exorcist with Variety. The horror maestro reveals that he is getting ready to start production on the movie. Read what he said below.
“We are getting ready to make it. Hopefully, we will do the same thing with ‘The Exorcist’ that we did with ‘Halloween’ – make it in a way that’s fresh and worth revisiting. And feels different enough so that people are happy we did it.”
While Blum's new comments offer a promising update, they might seem a bit vague to franchise enthusiasts who have been anxiously awaiting a new installment in the film series. Interestingly, although the core cast is yet to start work on the movie, actress Burstyn has already completed production on her parts in the film. Because of the actress' elderly age and the risks posed by COVID-19, the studio wanted to film her scenes first, and by February, she was able to wrap up production on her end. The full scope ofis not known, but considering she had completed filming so early, her appearance would likely be limited to a cameo.

Blum and Green were preoccupied with Halloween Ends as of late, but now that they are through with post-production, they finally have the time to begin work on The Exorcist. Following this update from Blum, more details on the project are surely coming soon.
