  Maine police officer's death: Suspect arrested after 4-day hunt, authorities say Police in central Maine have arrested a man accused of killing a police officer this week, ending a four-day manhunt, a sheriff said Saturday afternoon. John Williams, 29, of Madison, Maine, was captured, Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster said, following a search that authorities said encompassed 25 square miles of largely remote wilderness. Details about how Williams was found weren't immediately available. A $20,000 reward had been offered for information leading to his capture, the FBI said. Investigators believe Williams shot and killed Cpl. Eugene Cole sometime between 1 and 2 a.m.

BROOKEVILLE, Md. -- Police responding to a call for a domestic disturbance with people shot found multiple people dead inside a Brookeville, Maryland home Monday afternoon. Montgomery County police said via Twitter that the suspect, who is believed to be known to police, is not in custody. 

They asked residents to shelter in place.

Police said they couldn't confirm whether the deaths were related to a domestic dispute, but they were not believed to be random.

The victims and suspect haven't been identified. 

Brookeville is about 15 miles north of Washington, D.C.

Authorities say multiple people have died in a shooting at a home in a rural town north of Fort Worth. Denton County sheriff's Capt. Orlando Hinojosa tells the Denton Record-Chronicle that the shooting occurred Wednesday morning at the home in Ponder, about 30 miles (50 kilometers) north of Fort Worth.Hinojosa says there's no active shooter but did not release any details about a suspect. He declined to say how many people have died or release any information on the victims.
