Apple seems to have forgotten about its AirPower wireless charger

Apple seems to have forgotten about its AirPower wireless charger Yesterday’s Apple keynote was surprising in that it only featured new iPhones and a refreshed Watch, and no accessories for these products. Most folks keeping tabs on the brand were expecting updated AirPods, and at least some mention of the AirPower wireless charging mat that was previewed last year. That was an important part of Apple’s 2017 presentation: the AirPower was about supporting a key differentiating feature of the company’s mobile devices together: no other brand could claim to offer a phone, wearable, and audio gear that all charge without requiring separate proprietary connectors.

Verizon customers who buy a new iPhone 256 GB model can get $700 toward a second one (you buy the devices and get monthly credits to your account). T-Mobile is giving $300 in monthly credits to the purchase of a new iPhone on its interest-free installment plan. Qualified customers can also get a new device with no money down.

For a limited time, Sprint is also offering preorders for the iPhone XS 64GB model for no money down with an eligible trade-in phone and a Sprint Flex lease.

Coming next month: the lower-cost iPhone XR (starting at $749), which sports a 6.1-inch LCD liquid display and a single 12-megapixel camera on the back of the device. Preorders start Oct. 19 and the XR is in stores Oct. 26.

Available in six finishes and with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, the iPhone XR promises an additional 90 minutes of longer battery life than the current 8 Plus model. (The Xs and the XS Max, also have longer battery life, 30 minutes and 90 minutes, respectively.)
