The U. S . Secret Service shared a moving photo of George H . W . Bush on Twitter a day before the late president is honored with a state funeral. In the photo , the former president, whose head was shaved bald, could be seen sitting with a little boy, whose head was also shaved .

The Secret Service is sharing a touching memory of former President George H . W . Bush , the day before he is laid to rest. The post includes images of the president with a shaved head and the little boy on his lap, as well as an image of people who appear to be his detail, all sporting shaved heads .

In one of the photos the agency tweeted, the former president, whose head was shaved bald in the picture, could be seen sitting with a little boy, whose head was also shaved.

According to the agency's post, when Bush learned that the 2-year-old child of an agent was diagnosed with leukemia and that the rest of his security detail would be shaving their heads in support of the kid, Bush shaved his head too "in classic 41 manner."

The agency shared the story on Tuesday, writing in the tweet: "Everyone's #TuesdayThoughts are on President Bush."

It also referred to Bush as Timberwolf, which was his Secret Service code name.

The second photo featured in the post also shows Bush and the boy posing with his security detail, who were also sporting shaved heads.

Bush's family announced the death of the former president in a statement released by his son, former President George W. Bush, on Friday. The 41st president was 94 years old.
