The unlocked, 5G-capable Motorola Edge will launch on July 31st Motorola's Edge Plus is a fascinating option for smartphone shoppers, but there's at least one notable catch: You can only get one if you're a Verizon customer. (Verizon is Engadget's parent company but it has no control over what we publish, so allow us to say "Boo!" to this particular exclusivity deal.) Fortunately, fans of the phone's flagship style will soon have another option. This morning, Motorola confirmed that it will begin to sell the slightly more modest -- and fully unlocked -- Edge starting on July 31st. You'll be able to buy one direct from Motorola, plus the usual cadre of retail partners, like Amazon, B&H and Best Buy.

Not mandatory. For one thing, the deep recession on the stock markets is likely to have been largely priced in. It should therefore come as no surprise to investors if the economic downturn is reflected in the coming quarterly reports of many companies - or if there are hailing profit warnings. On the other hand, the economy will pick up speed again in the coming year. The assumption that the positive stock market trend continues is therefore well founded.
