  US envoy: Syrians face 'senseless cruelty' if border is shut ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — The closure of a final humanitarian border crossing into Syrian could cause “senseless cruelty” to millions of Syrians, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said Friday, renewing a call for the U.N. Security Council to extend authorization for the delivery of cross-border humanitarian assistance. U.S. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield made the comments at the end of a three-day visit to Turkey, which included a trip to the Bab al-Hawa border crossing — the sole remaining access point for humanitarian aid to enter conflict-ravaged Syria.

in the Central African Republic A high-level delegation representing three UN humanitarian agencies (OCHA, UNHCR, UNICEF) arrived Wednesday, June 9 in Bambari, in the center of the country, following the two fires that ravaged in recent days a site. According to the bambari gendarmerie, everything begins with a rebel attack on the positions of the army, on the night Friday to Saturday, making a death in his ranks. In pursuit of the attackers, the FACAs would have subsequently arrested in the displaced site, creating the psychosis and the massive flight of its inhabitants. The latter would then fire their own homes of straw huts to prevent them from being occupied by others.

This is the official version confirmed by local authorities. But contradicted by several security and diplomatic humanitarian sources. According to the latter, the displaced people would have received an ultimatum to leave the places losing a large part of their property in the fires. An internal document at the UN evokes a "forced eviction" as well as a possible "violation of international humanitarian law".
