"This is all a distraction," Pence said on Fox News Sunday, and "part of a narrative to delegitimize" Trump and his election victory over Hillary Clinton.

Vice President Mike Pence is getting in on the "alternative facts" fun.

Pence or his team made the claim that "well over half" of the huge crowds out protesting Trump's inauguration during Saturday's Women's March in Washington were actually fans of the new president in a Facebook post, the latest example of top Trump administration representatives choosing to misstate basic facts.

"Our Administration is proud to stand with American women and of our supporters' significant role in this cause. Despite the misleading Liberal Media's claims, we clearly saw that well over half of the participants in yesterday's march were Trump supporters," reads a post on Pence's official Facebook page posted on Sunday.

The Daily News had four reporters at Saturday's Women's March in Washington, and none saw any evidence that there was significant Trump support in a crowd that experts have estimated at close to a half-million people strong.

The crowd repeatedly chanted anti-Trump slogans, while signs criticizing the president and his policies were everywhere.

A small pro-life counter-protest did occur, though it wasn't officially pro-Trump. Daily News reporters spotted a few men in Trump hats hurriedly navigating the crowd to get into a Smithsonian museum on the national mall on Saturday. A nearby Bikers for Trump concert with a few dozen attendees was overrun by anti-Trump protestors, who for a time drowned out the show with a chant of "Three million votes," the margin that Trump lost the popular vote.

The post on Pence's wall drew widespread ridicule in the comments section, with many mocking them as "alternative facts," an unfortunate term coined by Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway on Sunday as she tried to defend easily disprovable claims White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer had made one day earlier.

On Saturday, Spicer made multiple easily disproven comments, including the wild claim that Trump's inauguration drew "the largest audience to witness an inauguration, period."

Crowd size experts saying the women's march in Washington was roughly two to three times its size and photo evidence showing that President Obama's crowds were much more massive, possibly ten times the size. Trump's inauguration drew less than 200,000 people, according to experts.

The non-partisan fact-checker Politifact rated Spicer's claim "Pants on Fire."
