Trump's 'Game of Thrones'-inspired poster shows up at Cabinet meeting A poster inspired by the HBO series “Game of Thrones” appeared on the desk near President Trump during a meeting with his Cabinet on Wednesday. The poster, which was was originally posted to Twitter by the president in November, says, “Sanctions are Coming,” a play on the line from the books and the show: “Winter is coming.” The poster also includes a photograph of Trump. Originally the poster was designed to promote the reimposition of sanctions on Iran that were lifted from the nuclear deal. HBO, where “Game of Thrones” airs, indirectly responded to the poster when it was originally tweeted out by Trump.

HBO pushed back on the use of the image at the time.

"How do you say trademark misuse in Dothraki?" the cable network tweeted, referring to the fictional language used in the series.

Trump's use of the poster is intended to highlight his administration's plans to reimpose sanctions on Iranian individuals and entities. It wasn't immediately clear why the poster was place on the table in front of the president during the Cabinet meeting.
