Mr. Trump said at a White House press conference that Harris was his "number one draft pick" for Biden's running mate, and he said she was "extraordinarily nasty" to his second Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.

Harris' grilling of Trump nominees in Senate Judiciary Committee hearings, including Kavanuagh and Attorney General William Barr, bolstered her national profile before she launched a presidential campaign last year.
