Gretchen Whitmer.Michigan has had a long history of groups of armed men and women, which are active in every state, according to Amy Cooter, a senior lecturer at Vanderbilt University, who has studied them for more than a dozen years. Modern armed groups, she said, date to the early 1990s as a response to perceived fears of tyrannical government.

Biden responded to the news by saying, “when Governor Whitmer worked to protect her state from a deadly pandemic, President Trump issued a call to "LIBERATE MICHIGAN!”
“That call was heard. He's giving oxygen to the bigotry and hate we see on the march in our country — and we have to stop it,” he added.
