On Friday, Kind blamed Google for the massage parlor's advertising on sex-for-hire websites, telling aoutlet that because of the tech company's "algorithms, [the ads] get attached to various sites that the small business has no control over."
However, a spokesman for Google told thesuch suggestive ads "are not Google-placed ads." He said the company specifically "does not run Google ads" on any of the illicit massage sites in question and said its publisher policies "prohibit content that promotes compensated sex acts."
Kind is among 57 House Democrats targeted by the NRCC ahead of the 2022 midterm elections and has represented Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District since 1996. However, Republicans see an opportunity to pick up Kind's seat this cycle, as the veteran Democrat won his last election by just over 2 and a half percentage points.

The Wisconsin Republican is the only senator in his party facing reelection next year in a state that backed Democrat Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential race. “If Ron Kind seeks reelection, Wisconsin voters will hold him accountable for his poor judgment. Ron Kind needs to come clean and explain what’s been going on at his property,” NRCC spokesman Mike Berg said in a statement.
