TechnologyApple Music comes to browsers today with a beta web player
Apple releases first beta of iOS 13.1, indicating iOS 13 is nearly done
Surprise, Apple didn’t release yet another beta version of iOS 13. The company released the first developer beta of iOS and iPadOS 13.1 instead. This is a curious move as Apple doesn’t usually share beta versions of .1 updates before the release of major updates. What’s even more surprising is that Apple released new beta versions for watchOS 6.0 and tvOS 13.0 today. So Apple just posted the first beta for iOS 13.1? pic.twitter.com/MH0PUOAZiQ
is making its debut in browsers today as Apple continues to untangle its media services from the confines of iTunes. If you're a subscriber, you can check out the public beta of the by signing in with your Apple ID.
The browser-based player includes "a core set of features" at the outset. For now, you can search for and play any song in the Apple Music catalog, as well as tunes from your library if you've set up the Sync Library option on other devices. You can also access your playlists and the various sections that you'll be used to: Library, Search, For You, Browse and Radio. Apple plans to add more features later.
Apple releases iOS 13.1 beta even before 13.0 officially launches
Less than a month before the expected public release of iOS 13.0, Apple has already launched a beta version of iOS 13.1 for developers. Though Apple's upcoming operating system update iOS 13.0 isn't expected to launch until the fall of this year, on Tuesday the company released a developer beta of iOS 13.1. The company launched the public beta 7 of iOS 13 just over a week ago, but evidently, Apple has already collected all the information it needs to officially launch the operating system, as a developer beta of the next version has been launched. The number of updates, however, is so slim that the average user would not even notice.
The player has some of the same features as theMusic app. At WWDC in June, Apple separate Music, Podcasts and TV apps for the latest version of the operating system, which
A key benefit of bringing Apple Music to the web is that it's essentially becoming platform agostic -- you'll be able to use the service on computers that don't have iTunes or the Music app. That should be a boon for folks who can't install them on work systems and instead have to plug headphones into their phone or tablet to get their Apple Music fix.
Apple says you'll eventually be able to sign up for Music through the web player. With the company placingon services these days, making the likes of Apple Music and as accessible as possible is a sensible business move, as well as one that benefits current and future subscribers. Besides, since competitors such as Spotify, Amazon Music and Pandora have long had web players, it's probably about time Apple Music came to browsers too.
Nicolas Beuglet: "To tell a good story is to offer immortality"
After "Le cri", best-seller sold 200 000 copies, the author returns with "Plot", a thrilling feminist thriller.
Paris Match. What time do you write?
Nicolas Beuglet. At any time, as long as it is clear in my head. Every morning, I make a plan of what I must write, of my chapter: first sentence, middle, end, cliffhanger. And here I can write it anytime during the day.
Computer, pen, typewriter?
All the reflection is in the pen, with arrows in all directions. But the writing is done on computer.
Do you document a lot before you start?
"The scream" had taken me five years. On "Plot" is a documentation spread over a decade. I need to be able to explain my subject to my 6 year old daughter: it means that I digested it, that I can integrate it into a story without making a copy-paste of a book or from Wikipedia.
Your first reader?
My wife, because she is very attentive and caring. We do not need violence in the first draft of writing.
Why do you write?
Because I'm convinced that telling a good story is about offering immortality, something you can not have in your real life. It's magic.
How to hang the player?
He must feel in the place of the main character, in danger and in questioning. If we get there, then we put him in a position that intrigues and worries him ... while reassuring him, because it is not him.
The pitfall to avoid?
To say that one is smarter than the reader. He is just as smart as we are.
Who is your favorite writer?
The last thing you wrote?
"Do not forget the box of pills Sarah!" [Geringen, her recurring heroine]. This is a note I took last night, for my next book ...
Your last reading?
"Dangerous pity", from Zweig.
Your favorite word?
On the other hand. Because I have a dualistic thought ...
The ideal place to write?
A place where all the noises would be absorbed, which is not the case of my current office!
"Plot", by Nicolas Beuglet, ed. XO, 494 pages, 19.90 euros.
Spotify is finally getting Siri support with iOS 13 .
Spotify is testing this new beta featureWhile this new feature lets you request Spotify songs with Siri on an iPhone, it does not currently work on an Apple Watch as Apple’s wearable doesn’t have a dedicated Spotify app. Instead, it’s simply a controller for playing songs on other Spotify-enabled devices. Siri simply responds with “I’m sorry, I can’t do that on your Apple Watch” when you try. We haven’t been able to test whether the HomePod now works with Spotify as a result, but it’s unlikely.
