Technology Amazon Echo Dot with Clock: Pricing, features and how to order
Amazon's new Echo Dot has a built-in clock
How is Amazon going to improve on last year's Echo Dot? By turning it into an alarm clock, it seems. The company has introduced a fourth-generation Dot with a clock built into the side. You won't have to ask Alexa what time it is when you wake up prematurely. It can also display extras like the temperature or alarm times to answer some of your other obvious questions. And if you do use it as an alarm clock, you can tap it to snooze the alarm for some extra shut-eye.The new Dot will sell for $60, with pre-orders starting today.
Rather than redesigning a whole new Echo Dot, Amazon is introducing the. For $59.99, the Echo Dot gets an LED clock built into the side and keeps two colors options. The new device is
This seems like a multi-tasking upgrade. Since the Echo Dot might be besides your bed on a nightstand, an alarm clock makes sense here. In our review of the, we wrote about the improvements to sound and the updated design.
Echo Dot with Clock keeps all of this, but adds in a visual aid. It's likely that Amazon will open up this LED setup to other developers as well. For now it's an easy way to see the time and can be helpful for getting out of bed in the morning.

What does Amazon
EXCLUSIVE - The American e-commerce giant is launching its Prime Now offer of express deliveries in one hour in the capital. On the menu, everything a supermarket can offer, including fresh food. Challenges was able to visit the first urban warehouse of Amazon in Paris from where the deliveries will leave.
A wholegrain bread from Kayser, a fillet of oranges, Nestlé Fitness cereals, Sun tights ... On Thursday, June 16th, Amazon launched Prime Now on Paris and its little crown *. One hour after the order, the races are delivered. The service is free for Premium subscribers of the site who agree to wait 2 hours. It costs 5.90 euros to the hurry. "We offer 18,000 references including a quarter of food products, fruits and vegetables," says Frédéric Duval, the director of the French subsidiary. It's twice more than a supermarket. Express deliveries of Prime Now mark a new milestone for the US giant in France. The site, which already believes on average twice as fast as e-commerce, will still grow.
At the third level of an industrial building, boulevard Ney in the 18th century, Amazon has installed its first urban warehouse in France on 3,500 m2. In the greatest secrecy, Toufik Meddour, his manager, has been preparing the D-Day for nine months. "We sent our team leaders for a month in Italy, explains this young logistician engineer, so that they are immersed in the process. Last year, Amazon launched its Prime Now offering in Milan. The site also offers this express delivery offer in Berlin, England and many US cities.
Because of the strikes and the Euro, the launch was postponed for a week. The Parisian districts around the fan zone will not be able to take advantage of the service in the afternoon until July 11th. "We are the fourth country in Europe to launch this service," says Frédéric Duval. It's going to be fantastic. On the walls of the warehouse, slogans are reminiscent of Amazon's operational obsession: "Have backbone, disagree and commit" (show your character, challenge and engage) ...
When the curtain of the dock s opens to receive the semi-trailer, a breathtaking view is offered on Paris. Danone, Coca-Cola, Pernod Ricard, Nestle but also Dim, Bic ... All major brands are just a click away on the site. Once an order is placed, it is displayed on a large electronic board located in the center of the warehouse. The 65 "packers", who take turns from 7 am to 10 pm, crisscross the rays with their cart. They fill the Amazon Prime Now branded kraft paper bags by scanning the scanner attached to their forearm. "In England, a delivery was made in just 12 minutes, says Frédéric Duval, it's a record.
When the order is complete, the bags are placed on a shelf corresponding to a geographical area served. Deliverymen on scooters and vans load them into their vehicles in successive waves. External service providers such as Top Chrono have been equipped with Amazon's software. "All of our customers can track their progress in real time on the Prime Now app," says Toufik Meddour. As with Uber when ordering a VTC. As for the prices practiced by Prime Now, they are in line with those of the brands equipped with a drive. Except with Amazon, it's not up to consumers to move to take delivery of their order.
