The iPhone 11 Pro vs. the competition: Battle of the cameras

The iPhone 11 Pro vs. the competition: Battle of the cameras The new flagship iPhone is here, and Apple's added the word "Pro" to its name — the first time Apple's used that word for a handset. And no wonder: The camera on the iPhone 11 Pro is a triple camera setup that takes nine images with each press of the shutter and uses a neural engine to assemble the best picture possible. It'll need to deliver in order to keep pace with rival flagships like the Pixel 3 (or next month's Pixel 4) and the Galaxy S10 or Note 10. Where else does it shine? And where does it fall behind? Check out our table below for the essential specs, and join us later this month for our full review.

It's been yet another Pixel phone launch preceded by a ton of leaks, but we're still glad to see the official unveiling of Google's latest flagship. That's to be expected in the wake of more intense competition on the camera front from Samsung and Apple. To see exactly how this specs battle is

As usual, the Pixel 4 and 4 XL share a common foundation: They both use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 chipset with 6GB of RAM, they both come with either 64GB or 128GB of storage. The rest of those leaks were spot-on, too. The Pixel 4 and 4 XL come in three colors (including a fetching new orange

It's been yet another Pixel phone launch preceded by a ton of leaks, but we're still glad to see the official unveiling of Google's latest flagship. This 5.7-inch device may only have two rear cameras, but the software's been refined even further to include better Night Sight and HDR+. That's to be expected in the wake of more intense competition on the camera front from Samsung and Apple. To see exactly how this specs battle is shaking out, check out the table below, and stay tuned for our full review of the Pixel 4 later this month.

Deluge of Pixel 4 photos confirms a few of the phone's key specs

Deluge of Pixel 4 photos confirms a few of the phone's key specs If you thought the torrent of detailed Pixel 4 leaks was over, you have another thing coming. Vietnamese phone shop D Store Mobile has sent nearly two dozen photos of a pre-release Pixel 4 XL to The Verge that appear to confirm some of its previously rumored specs. Notably, the main rear camera will snap shots with a brighter f/1.73 aperture (versus f/1.8 on the Pixel 3). The telephoto camera's specs aren't available, but you can safely presume there will be improvements to low-light photos and some close-ups. Curiously, the camera app will apparently default to capturing 16:9 photos to fill the screen, rather than 4:3 photos to make the most of the sensor.

And no wonder: The camera on the iPhone 11 Pro is a triple-lens setup that takes nine images with each press of the shutter and uses a neural engine to assemble the It'll need to deliver in order to keep pace with rival flagships like the Pixel 3 (or next month's Pixel 4 ) and the Galaxy S10 or Note 10.
