Google adds seasonal Nest doorbell ringers in time for Halloween

Google adds seasonal Nest doorbell ringers in time for Halloween If you're the type of person who goes all out each Halloween decorating your home to make it the star of the neighborhood, Google wants to help. Starting today, the company is updating Nest Hello video doorbells to add a new seasonal ringtone to help create the right atmosphere for the spookiest day of the year. Once you enabled the feature through the Nest app, instead of a standard ringtone, visitors will hear a rotating cast of characters that includes a "cackling witch," a ghost, a vampire and a scary monster anytime they ring your doorbell. The feature also works inside on Nest smart displays if you enable the visitor announcements functionality.

Decorations take Halloween to the next level, and in some neighborhoods, spook-ifying your house can get competitive. If you have a Nest Hellovideo doorbell , you might notice a seasonal update from Google . By enabling the feature in the Nest app, you'll get access to a chilling rotation of Halloween favorites-- a cackling witch, a ghost, a vampire and a frightening monster. Visitors will hear these anytime they ring the doorbell.

From there, tap the Settings icon and then choose the section that you want to modify. Scroll down to Doorbell Theme and you can choose Halloween (US only).

Google is bringing some ‘spooky sounds’ to Nest Hello, just in time for Halloween

Google is bringing some ‘spooky sounds’ to Nest Hello, just in time for Halloween I have some fond memories of trick-or-treating as a kid every Halloween like I'm sure we all do -- one of those great holiday traditions when your life is still hopefully pretty innocent and mostly stress-free, and you can roam the neighborhood dressed up and knocking on doors asking for candy. Besides the fun of racing home and dumping it all out to check out the totality of your haul, one of the other fun things I remember is the extent to which some neighbors would go all-out, adding scary decorations outside and maybe even greeting you when you got to the door with spooky sound effects.

Google is also planning to launch a series of winter ringtones in late November.
