Apple's 2020 iPhones could have in-display fingerprint readers

Apple's 2020 iPhones could have in-display fingerprint readers While rivals like Samsung and Huawei have been rocking in-screen fingerprint sensors for a while now, Apple has been relying on Face ID since the iPhone X. That might change soon, however, according to a report from Bloomberg's reputable Apple leaker, Mark Gurman. The company is reportedly developing in-screen fingerprint tech that will work in concert with Face ID and might be ready as early as 2020. Front fingerprint readers like Apple's original Touch ID are generally more convenient than those on the back of smartphones. However, modern, all-screen smartphones require front-facing sensors to be embedded under the screen.

Apple plans on shipping around 80 million new 5 G iPhones , according to someone familiar with the situation. Apple will be the last of the three major Analysts at Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute estimate that Apple will produce 206 million new iPhones in 2020 , which may give carriers

Come 2020 , Apple will reportedly release three iPhone models that support 5 G , according to a new report. Kuo previously said Apple would only release two iPhone models that offer 5 G , but his forecast has been changed following Apple 's acquisition of Intel's smartphone modem business.

It seems like Apple is preparing to launch a trio of 5GiPhones next year, after leaving the next-generation wireless technology out of its 2019 iPhone 11s. The modem will be designed by Qualcomm , Nikkei reported Wednesday.

Neither Apple nor Qualcomm immediately responded to requests for comment.

iPhone 5G to support both mmWave and sub-6GHz bands .
Apple has never attempted to be the first company to support the next-gen, speedier, wireless data transfer standard. A new research note from Ming-Chi Kuo seen by 9to5Mac claims that the 5G iPhones will support both mmWave and sub-6GHz bands. These are 5G frequency versions in use in several markets around the world, and the 5G networks of the future will work on a combination of mmWave and sub-6GHz bands. Phones will, therefore, have to support both these frequency types, and the 5G iPhone shouldn’t be the only 2020 device to come with mmWave and sub-6GHz compatibility.
