Spotify is finally getting Siri support with iOS 13

Spotify is finally getting Siri support with iOS 13 Spotify is testing this new beta featureWhile this new feature lets you request Spotify songs with Siri on an iPhone, it does not currently work on an Apple Watch as Apple’s wearable doesn’t have a dedicated Spotify app. Instead, it’s simply a controller for playing songs on other Spotify-enabled devices. Siri simply responds with “I’m sorry, I can’t do that on your Apple Watch” when you try. We haven’t been able to test whether the HomePod now works with Spotify as a result, but it’s unlikely.

You can have Siri send your reply immediately, without reading it back first. If you 're receiving multiple messages at once, you can quickly pause Announce Messages with Siri by taking out one of your AirPods or removing your headphones.

In it, you can set Siri to read your text messages through AirPods . Toggle the "Announce Messages with Siri " to on. There's also an option to "Send replies without confirmation," which means you can speak a text message back to someone and Siri won't read it back to you before sending it.

With the release of iOS 13.2 earlier this week, Apple added new features to our iPhones and iPads. There are several new emoji, the iPhone 11's camera improved, and we finally have access to Announce Messages with Siri, a feature that was supposed to launch with iOS 13 back in September.

The new feature will use Siri to automatically read your incoming messages when you're listening to music or a podcast with some of Apple's compatible wireless earbuds or headphones.

There are some requirements

In order to have Siri read your messages, you'll need to have iOS 13.2 or iPadOS 13.2 installed on your iPhone or iPad. And, of course, you'll also need to have one of the following sets of AirPods or Beats headphones:

  • AirPods (2nd generation)
  • AirPods Pro
  • PowerBeats Pro
  • Beats Solo Pro

Another important note: Your iPhone or iPad has to be locked with the screen turned off in order for Siri to read your messages.

Turn it on, adjust settings

After I updated my iPhone to iOS 13.2, the feature was already turned on, but it doesn't hurt to make sure that's the case and adjust its settings if you like. Open the Settings app and go to Notifications > Announce Messages with Siri.

Apple just finally added Spotify integration to Siri in iOS 13

Apple just finally added Spotify integration to Siri in iOS 13 A major shift reportedly underway at Apple -- involving the company loosening the restrictions on how third-party apps work with Siri -- has also brought about an integration that Spotify users have been wanting for some time now. The arrival of the latest version of iOS 13 has made it possible to finally use Siri to play Spotify content like albums and songs, a feature that's usable once you've installed the latest iPhone software update and merely ask Siri to play something “with Spotify.” require(["medianetNativeAdOnArticle"], function (medianetNativeAdOnArticle) { medianetNativeAdOnArticle.

At the top of the screen is a switch to turn the feature on and a section where supported apps will show up. Right now, it's limited to Messages. There's also an option to let Siri send a message after you dictate it, without first reading it back to you to confirm it's what you want to send. I leave this off because Siri has been known to totally misunderstand me, especially in noisy environments.

If you tap Messages you can select which messages Siri will read messages. The current options include messages from Favorites, Recents, Contacts or Everyone.

Reply to a message

When you receive a new message and Siri reads it to you, as soon as she stops talking, you can say "Reply" followed by what you want the message to say. Once you're done talking, Siri will either read the message back to you and confirm it's you want to send it, or just send the message, depending on your settings.

Apple's $249 AirPods Pro pack noise cancellation and hands-free Siri

Apple's $249 AirPods Pro pack noise cancellation and hands-free Siri After months of rumors, Apple didn't wait until its next event to reveal the new version of its AirPods. Officially called AirPods Pro, the new model offers active noise cancellation and hands-free access to Siri for $249. The biggest change in terms of design is the addition of silicone ear tips that offer a better seal. This is essential for noise-cancelling earbuds, and it's also a tweak that was tipped in an iOS 13 beta. Apple says theApple says the AirPods Pro offer "superior sound quality" with audio feature called Adaptive EQ. According to the company, the tool "automatically tunes" low and mid-range frequencies to suit each person's ears.

Apple refreshed its AirPods wireless earbuds in March 2019 and released Airpods Pro later the same year iOS 14: How to Pin and Unpin Conversations in Messages . Apple has made it easier to keep track One of those features is the ability to summon Siri entirely handsfree, allowing you to speak a

It took me a few tries to figure out exactly when to say "Reply" and how the whole feature worked, but now that I have the hang of it, I can see myself using this quite a bit.

Announce Messages with Siri is just one of many features in iOS 13. Between the dedicated dark mode, improved Messages app, and the ability to share what you're listening to with fellow AirPod users, there's a lot to like.

Apple’s AirPods Pro are on sale just weeks after their release .
Less than a month after Apple released its AirPods Pro, they're on sale for $235 on Amazon. That $14 savings is a little surprising. It's unusual to see these things go on sale so soon, and it might irk some of the folks who bought them at full price a couple weeks ago. Normally $249, the AirPods Pro are Apple's best and most expensive true wireless earbuds yet. They offer refined design, better sound and more features, like active noise cancellation (ANC). They add transparency mode, on-board controls and silicone ear tips. They're rated as sweatproof (IPX4), and of course, they have hands-free Siri.
