New icons found in macOS suggest that 16-inch MacBook Pro release drawing near At this point, it's overwhelmingly clear that the butterfly keyboard design Apple introduced on its late-2016 MacBook Pro marks one of the low points in Apple design. Though Apple would go on to make iterative improvements to the design, the bottom line is that the slimmer keyboard design proved to be unreliable and prone to breaking if even the slightest particle happened to lodge itself underneath a key. The good news is that Apple is reportedly planning to launch a slew of new MacBook models with the older scissor mechanism keyboard, including a revamped  MacBook Pro with a 16-inch display.

Never mind Black Friday, it seems like today is a great day for MacBook deals, because not only have we seen a highly tempting reduction on MacBook Pro models, but the new MacBook Air has also witnessed a $200 price cut.

The 13-inch MacBook Air with Intel Core i5 processor and 8GB RAM plus 128GB storage normally retails at $1,099, but has been reduced to $899.99 at Amazon, a saving of $199.01 to be precise.

This kind of price level takes us back to the good old days when the MacBook Air represented the more wallet-friendly offering from Apple’s laptop range, before prices were pushed up somewhat.

A MacBook Pro with a better keyboard design may finally arrive this week

A MacBook Pro with a better keyboard design may finally arrive this week For a company that prides itself on world-class design and products that "just work," the MacBook Pro Apple introduced in late 2016 has proven to be nothing short of an embarrassment. As you've likely heard by now, Apple's 2016 MacBook Pro featured a butterfly keyboard design that was supposed to deliver an improved typing experience. Instead, MacBook Pro owners over the past few years have had to deal with a range of frustrating usability issues. Though the new keyboard design was slimmer, it was consistently unreliable and all too prone to breaking down completely if even the slightest piece of debris happened to wedge itself underneath a key.

There’s lots to like about the 2019 incarnation of the MacBook Air, which benefits from a top-notch screen and great battery life, with Apple’s ever-present design chops ensuring this is a looker of a laptop.

Performance is still something of a sticking point, as we made clear in our full review of the notebook, but relative to what you’re paying with this discount, matters seem a lot rosier on that front. And the MacBook Air still boasts solid enough performance levels, don’t get us wrong.

Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro is no more

Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro is no more Goodbye to the classic screen sizeThe outgoing 15-inch screen size has been a fixture of Apple’s laptop lineup dating back to the PowerBook G4 days and continued on with the MacBook Pro, which was first introduced over a decade ago in 2006.

While this is undoubtedly a great deal, we have seen $200 knocked off the price of the MacBook Air in the past – so we could potentially get even better discounts come Black Friday 2019 or Cyber Monday 2019.

That said, you might be waiting for a better deal that never comes – and there’s no doubt that picking up this machine for a cent under $900 is a bargain whichever way you dice it.

Apple confirms shutdown issue with the 2019 13-inch MacBook Pro .
Apple's MacBook Pro issues are still ongoing, as it recently issued a support document confirming an unexpected shutdown problem on the entry-level 13-inch 2019 MacBook Pro. According to MacRumors' forum, the model can suddenly shut down when it hits about 25 to 50 percent of its battery life and you can only turn it on again by connecting the charger. Apple has issued a support document describing how to handle the issue if it pops up. Once your ‌MacBook Pro‌ drops below a 90 percent charge, you should connect it to a charger, quit all applications and let it sleep and charge for eight hours, minimum. After that, update to the latest version of macOS.
