Amazon's Fire tablets and Kindles are on sale for everyone
Last month, Amazon introduced some hefty discounts on its Fire tablets and Kindle e-readers, but those discounts were only available to Prime subscribers. Now, the company has made those savings available to all customers in the US, with up to $40 off its range of electronics. First up are the popular Fire tablets, the compact devices which are handy for reading recipes in the kitchen or making video calls. The Fire 7 was cheap to begin with, and with $10 off (now $40) it's a bargain. If you're looking for a larger screen and a longer-lasting battery, there's also $20 off the bigger Fire 8 (now $60, or $50 for Prime subscribers).

The most affordable tabletSarah Tew/CNET
Amazon's rock-bottom tablet prices are always shocking, and this year's Fire 7 is a solid budget tablet pick for basic video/game/kid needs. As always, Amazon Prime lets you get a lot more out of it content-wise, and Amazon's Fire ecosystem is more limited than Android. But if you're buying for a child, definitely invest in the Kids Edition, which includes a rubberized case, a free year of kid-friendly FreeTime Unlimited content -- and a no-questions-asked two-year replacement warranty for damaged units.

The best Samsung Galaxy Tab A prices and deals in January 2020 .
Get a great deal on one of the best cheap tabletsThere's a lot to like about these deals simply because the Tab A is unlike other cheap tablets that flood search engines. Samsung's Galaxy Tab A range is one we can fully recommend as one of the finest budget tablets around as the performance and quality puts similar tablets to shame. Many other big name manufactures have seemingly abandoned tablets nowadays thanks to smartphones muscling in on their territory so it's great to see Samsung still proudly flying the Android tablet flag.
