Hackers breached some of the web's most popular domain registrars
Attackers have breached Web.com and two top domain name registrars that it owns, NetworkSolutions.com and Register.com, according to Krebs on Security. Web.com issued a security notice advising customers that they will be forced to reset their passwords the next time they log on. Such breaches are particularly worrying, because domain name registrar customers are website owners, and around 8.7 million of them are registered with those companies, according to Krebs.Web.

FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - The Fort Worth Water Department says some customers may have had their financial data breached.
The department says this affects about 3000 customers who made a one-time payment using the department's online payment web portal between August 27th and October 23rd.
"The vendor (CentralSquare) found that there had been malicious code that was added to their programming," says water department spokeswoman Mary Gugliuzza. "We got that removed, (and) we actually ended up replacing the entire server."
The department has already reached out to the affected customers and will be doing so again very soon.
"They will be getting another letter that will also include information on free 12 months of (credit) monitoring," says Gugliuzza.
Customers who use automatic withdrawal, who paid by phone or paid in person are not impacted
These bank fees always charged at a high price
The new boss of Crédit Mutuel, Nicolas Théry, trumpeted him everywhere on the occasion of his appointment, mid-March : With interest rates at its lowest, making money from home loan business will quickly become impossible. For the banks, therefore, there is no alternative but to become "service companies".
Services, needless to say, charged at a high price. Ask customers about the precarious financial situation: once again this year, they have to contend with intervention fees, levied in the event of a payment incident, rising slightly to more than € 7.60. It must be said that all the institutions had not yet aligned with the legal ceiling of 8 euros, created in early 2014.
Other banking users expected to be seasoned: those - increasingly rare, let's recognize it - pushing hard to push the door of their agency. For example, to issue a transfer order. This rate, rising in some forty banks this year, now stands at 3.53 euros (+ 0.56%). The most greedy, like the Marseilles Credit Company or the Credit du Nord, demanding up to 5euros.
But the saltiest note, as shown by the calculations made by our partner Panorabanks, it is the holders of an immediate debit card who will have to pay. Against all expectations, its price has risen by 3.10% in 2016, to approach that of the deferred debit card, still 11% higher. This first type of card is less risky for the bank than the second, which allows to pay its expenses at the end of the month. Let's bet however that in the long term their contributions will be aligned. In line with what BNP Paribas decided this year, by lowering debit access by 3% (from 46euros to 44,50euros), while increasing by 8.5% (from 41 to 44 , 50 euros) the immediate debit. Because what your banker does not tell you is that, since the end of 2015 and the adoption of a European directive, payments made via a deferred debit card give him 50% of interbank fees more than those from an immediate debit card. No wonder since he directs you to the most profitable plastic rectangle for him!
If these practices annoy you, the solution is simple: opt for an online bank. The vast majority (Monabanq often being an exception), they have adopted a policy of zero fees. This is the case, for example, for the famous intervention commissions, as for payment cards. Provided, however, to respect certain criteria. Thus ING Direct and Fortuneo offer the card only to customers earning at least € 1,200 per month, or with at least € 5,000 deposits (thresholds lowered to € 1,000 and € 2,500 respectively at Boursorama ). Initiative to report: to expand its customer base to those not in such a mold, ING Direct launched in June a paid account, associated with a credit card Gold. For a cost of 5 euros per month, 50% less than the industry average.
