Is the OnePlus 7 Pro worth the upgrade from its predecessor?

Is the OnePlus 7 Pro worth the upgrade from its predecessor? OnePlus had already earned plenty of fans with affordable high-end phones like the 6T; our reviewer Richard Lai praised that handset's solid hardware and slick software performance while our user reviews echoed his praise for the camera, battery life and Oxygen OS. With the release of the 7 Pro, the company built upon its strengths with features like a more responsive in-display fingerprint reader, a pop-up 16-megapixel camera and a 90Hz AMOLED screen.Richard called the 7 Pro "easily my favorite OnePlus phone to date" and gave it an impressive score of 91 (two points higher than the score for the 6T).

When OnePlus made its TV debut, releasing its OnePlus TV Q1 series in India this September, it noticeably left Netflix out of the picture. Now, Android Police reports that OnePlus is bringing the Netflix app to its TVs via a system update. Newer models will ship with Netflix preinstalled, and a redesigned remote will come with a dedicated Netflix button.

The new remote will fix a few other issues. The original was remarkably similar to Apple's TV remote, but in an attempt to be sleek, OnePlus didn't include a mute button. Instead, users had to press both volume buttons at once. The new remote will be thicker, made of plastic (rather than metal), run on AAA batteries and include dedicated mute and Netflix buttons, says Android Police. In other words, OnePlus is no longer trying to imitate Apple's less-than-perfect remote design.

OnePlus 8 Pro leaked months before its reveal in detailed renders

OnePlus 8 Pro leaked months before its reveal in detailed renders Two weeks ago, one of Twitter's most prolific smartphone leakers, Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks), teamed up with CashKaro to give us an advance look at the OnePlus 8. This was before the Chinese vendor had even officially announced the OnePlus 7T Pro, and now, just weeks later, Hemmerstoffer has returned with renders of the OnePlus 8 Pro, which, if accurate, provide a complete picture of the spring 2020 flagship OnePlus lineup. HemmerstofferHemmerstoffer shared the renders with 91mobiles this time around – a site which has hosted several major Android phone leaks in the past.

The TVs are still only available in India, but it's interesting to see how they're developing ahead of what we can only assume will be a wider release. Both the OnePlus TV Q1 and Q1 Pro are 55-inch 4K QLED panels with support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+. They started at INR 69,000 ($972) and INR 99,900 ($1407) respectively.

OnePlus phones will optimize charging based on your sleep habits .
OnePlus is working on a new OxygenOS feature called Optimized Charging that will attempt to extend the life of your phone's battery by taking your sleep schedule into account. When you put your OnePlus phone to charge before going to bed, it will refill its power cell to 80 percent of its maximum capacity and then temporarily stop. A hundred minutes before you usually wake up, your first alarm or event of the day, the phone will then charge to full. The idea here is that by preventing the battery from staying at full capacity for too long, OnePlus can slow how quickly it degrades over time.
