Samsung will unveil its latest Galaxy phones on February 11th

Samsung will unveil its latest Galaxy phones on February 11th In case you've been losing sleep over whether that leaked Samsung invite video was real, fret no more. Samsung itself confirmed this evening that it plans to show off "new, innovative devices that will shape the next decade of mobile experiences" at a Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco on February 11th. The event's timing almost certainly means Samsung will officially reveal the Galaxy S11 -- or Galaxy S20, depending on who you ask. The language Samsung used in its newsroom post, however, seems to suggest we'll see more than just the standard flagship smartphones we're used to giving the hands-on treatment to.

CES 2020 proved to be more of the same, with Samsung dominating the trade show in a few different areas. Samsung unveiled a lot at this year' s event, ranging from budget-minded smartphones to artificial humans. Here' s a recap of Samsung at CES 2020 , the announcements it made, and why

Rather than the S series smartphones being called the Galaxy S11 series, they will be called Galaxy S20 series models (S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra) just as rumors spread over the past few weeks have been suggesting. The successor of the Galaxy Fold will actually be called the Galaxy Bloom instead of the Galaxy Fold 2. Both names were confirmed by the company's chief DJ Koh.

Koh also stated in "private" that the Bloom was inspired by Lancome makeup compacts. It's expected to be available with either 4G or 5G connectivity as well as, like the S20 series, 8K video recording.

As per the invitations sent out late last week, both devices will be officially unveiled on February 11.

Samsung will offer a 4G version of the Galaxy S20 in some countries .
Samsung has made a point of making 5G available for every Galaxy S20 variant, but that doesn't mean the phones will always come equipped with 5G. People in the UK, countries in mainland Europe and elsewhere will also have the option of buying the S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra in 4G (read: LTE) variants. In some countries, like Russia and South Africa, the 4G variant appears to be the only one on offer in pre-registration campaigns. That's notJust don't expect to see any changes. Engadget confirmed at Samsung's London event that the 4G versions are functionally identical to their 5G counterparts aside from the lack of that (usually) speedier data connection. There doesn't appear to be a price advantage, either.
