Technology Samsung Gold Box Deals: Amazon is discounting Chromebooks, tablets, and monitors
Best tablets for the holidays: Surface Pro, iPad, Galaxy or Fire
There are fewer than ever, but here are your top options.Unfortunately, the range of tablets available has shrunk even further this year, with Google backing off Android tablets and Apple still not updating its top-of-the-line iPad Pro in 2019. Our advice: Spend as little as possible, and expect many of these to be on sale during the holiday season.
. There are Chromebooks, the Galaxy Tab S6 tablet, and even a few computer monitors — a couple of which have a unique feature.
A few different Samsung Chromebook 4 and Chromebook 4+ models are available at discounts of up to 22%., with the only difference between the two models being display size. The Chromebook 4 has an 11.6-inch display, while the Chromebook 4+ has a 15.6-inch display.
They both have Intel Celeron N4000 processors and 720p webcams, and both can be configured with 4GB or 6GB of memory and 32GB or 64GB of storage. Both devices run Google's Chrome OS and can run Android apps from the Play Store.
The best moves of the MLB offseason so far
The early part of the MLB offseason has already brought with it some blockbuster moves, as well as some under-the-radar signings that could have a big impact in 2020.
The entry-level. , down from $299.99.
I've found with Chrome OS that the more memory a Chromebook has, the better it performs. Sure, the processor and other aspects are also factors, but more memory has made a big difference in my daily use. Because of that, I suggest you consider the configurations with 6GB of memory and 64GB of storage for the Chromebook 4 and Chromebook 4+. They're currently marked down toand , respectively.

Samsung's first Odyssey gaming monitors include a 240Hz ultra-wide
Samsung is now applying its Odyssey gaming badge to monitors, and it's marking the occasion with two displays that are clearly geared to enthusiasts. The 49-inch CTG9 (above) is billed as the first 5,120 x 1,440 ultra-wide display with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 1ms pixel response time. You won't have to choose between extra-smooth performance and expansive, high-res visuals. It's also one of the first Samsung screens with a 1000R curvature, and it can handle DisplayHDR 1000 brightness as well as AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync. It should show up in the second quarter of the year.If that strikes you as overkill, there will be less extravagant options.

Samsung's Galaxy Chromebook has a 4K UHD AMOLED display and costs $1000
Co-engineered with Intel for Project Athena, the Galaxy Chromebook sounds like a seriously great device. And it's not just the display and design that stand out here. It sounds like it'll be filled with everything that you'd find in a current ultraportable Windows laptop, so you can take full advantage of Chrome and Android apps.
, and for good reason. It has Samsung's Super AMOLED display technology, providing a bright and crisp picture whether you're editing a Google Doc or binging your favorite show on Netflix. The screen measures 10.5 inches, and the tablet weighs 0.92 pounds.
Normally, you'd have storage options of 128GB or 256GB, but the 128GB isn't included in the current deal and actually costs more () than the 256GB model, . There is also a micro SD card slot that supports cards up to 512GB.
Apple, Amazon were rare bright spots in a shrinking tablet market
The tablet market was fairly bleak in 2019, it seems. IDC analysts have estimated that tablet shipments dropped 1.5 percent in 2019 compared to a year earlier, with some brands taking a significant hit. The lone bright spots were Apple and Amazon, whose market shares jumped to 34.6 percent and 9 percent respectively on the back of stronger shipments. Even heavyweights like Samsung, Huawei and Lenovo saw their share and shipments drop. TheThe researchers didn't explain why the tablet world contracted over the course of the whole year, but its fourth quarter stats offered some clues. Apple was particularly aggressive in updating tablets in 2019, and its lower-cost models were particularly successful -- the 10.
Included with the Tab S6 is an S Pen that attaches to the back of the tablet and can be used to write notes, as a remote to control music, or for sketching.
There is an optional keyboard case for the Tab S6, but the listing on Amazon is currently out of stock. So if you want the keyboard,.

The biggest savings of the day in Samsung's Gold Box Deal can be found on the SR75 monitor. There are two different sizes, 32 inches and 27 inches. The larger display is 4K UHD with a refresh rate of 60Hz and a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160. There are almost no bezels around three sides, and the display comes with its own desk clamp instead of a stand. It's an interesting approach and one that makes it easy to adjust and position the screen to give you more desk space.9.
Samsung’s Dexbook could boost the size of your phone’s display without any folding
The reason that foldable devices exist is that we all want more screen real estate from our mobile devices without the extra bulk. The sad reality is that this works better in theory than in practice. Both the Galaxy Fold and the Mate X unfolds into tablets, but they’re rather bulky nonetheless. The brand new Galaxy Z Flip unfolds into a regular all-screen smartphone that looks a lot like the Galaxy S20, but you can’t do anything with it when it’s folded. And even when it is folded shut, the Z Flip is rather chunky for a modern smartphone.© Provided by BGR Samsung DeX The technology isn’t quite ready to make the slim, foldable devices we’re dreaming of a reality.
The 27-inch version comes with the same built-in adjustable clamp but forgoes 4K quality. Instead, you'll get a 2K 2,560 x 1,440 monitor that also lacks bezels on three sides..
