Suzanne Collins announced it a little less than a year ago. It is finally here. "The ballad of the snake and the songbird" (Ed. PKJ, 560 p., € 19.90), new part of the saga "Hunger Games" has just been released in bookstores, more than 90,000 copies in France . An implementation that bets on a new success after the triumph of the trilogy launched eleven years ago, sold in total 2.5 million copies here and nearly 100 million worldwide. Not to mention the boxes at the box office of the four films that revealed Jennifer Lawrence, embodying the heroine Katniss Everdeen.

Star Wars: an error present in the saga since The Empire strikes back

Star Wars: an error present in the saga since The Empire strikes back A few days ago, a young fan of "Star Wars" noticed an inconsistency present in the saga from the very beginning. An error that Mark Hamill said on Twitter to have thought about for a long time ... but could not find an explanation. © Lucasfilm Ltd. Star Wars: an error present in the saga since The Empire strikes back Darth Vader is the father of Luke Skywalker. Since 1980 and the mythical sequence of The Empire has been attacking , everyone knows it.

A race against time for publication

Confinement did not facilitate the French translation of this new book. The conditions for the global release "have been unprecedented," says the editor and collection director at Pocket Jeunesse, Xavier d'Almeida. "In general, it takes eight months to publish this kind of work, there we only had three." Between the translation, the proofreading and the many passwords put in place not to be hacked, it was a real race against the clock.

So what is it? From a prequel to the saga, a novel which, chronologically, takes place before the first three. The author had the good idea to return here to the great villain of the trilogy, the roots of evil.

Centered on Coriolanus Snow at his 18 years

Coriolanus Snow (played by Donald Sutherland) is then a young man of 18 years. He goes to the tenth annual Hunger Games to become, for the first time in the history of the game, a mentor. Now an orphan and ruined because of the war, he lives with his grandmother and his cousin. The character will have to be inventive, charming and cunning to restore prestige to his family and try to win his candidate, the daughter of the "District" 12. The task does not look easy, especially more than her affection for Lucy Gray, the candidate in question, is only growing ...

Seemingly very classic, the book succeeds in deconstructing the image of the villain next to Snow in the trilogy. We gradually interfere in his thoughts, in his pushy logic. We even come to get attached to this character who, since the loss of his parents in the war, must financially help the rest of his family. While he is asked to make the Hunger Games more attractive, to submit new ideas, we discover that his father is behind these games.

Soon an adaptation to the

cinema Several references to the saga come to interfere here and there, to the delight of the fans. We learn more about the hatred that Coriolanus Snow has in "District 12" and why he loves roses so much but hates katniss. Obviously impossible not to draw a parallel between the girl he fell in love with, Lucy Gray and the young Katniss Everdeen of the saga published 11 years ago. Certain scenes also demonstrate the aversion of the Capitol towards the inhabitants of the "Districts", dehumanized, locked up in a zoo, like caged animals.

Suzanne Collins thus signs a convincing and powerful book which depicts all the reasons which led Snow to become the one we know today. However, it may appeal more to readers who have followed the trilogy than to those who discover the world of "Hunger Games" today. Whatever. The life of this new book is just beginning. An adaptation to the cinema has already been launched.

Honeywell will let other companies tap into its quantum computer .
Honeywell's quantum computer is now commercially available after it was first announced in March. The company, best known in the US for making thermostats, says enterprise customers can access the machine either directly through one of its own interfaces or via Microsoft's Azure Quantum portal. As it did when it unveiled the device, Honeywell claims it's the world's most powerful quantum computer. Typically, when most companies talk about quantum computers, they usually mention qubits. Honeywell is instead using a metric called quantum volume to play up the capabilities of its machine. The term tries to capture the "quality" of qubits.
