OnePlus might launch a $200 smartphone in the US this year

OnePlus might launch a $200 smartphone in the US this year OnePlus is reportedly working on an entry-level budget phone that will cost around $200 and will launch in the United States before the end of 2020. Codenamed Clover, the new OnePlus phone will have a Snapdragon 460 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 6000mAh battery with Fast Charge. OnePlus Clover will also have a triple rear camera with a 13-megapixel primary lens. When OnePlus burst on to the scene in 2014, the OnePlus One made a splash by bringing an affordable price tag to a phone that refused to compromise on power or design.

The OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei is surprisingly leaving the company. The Swedish-Chinese entrepreneur quit his work at the smartphone manufacturer weeks ago and is now devoting himself to new projects. It is not known whether there are other reasons for Pei's sudden departure.

The news comes as a shock to OnePlus supporters and smartphone fans as Pei was instrumental in the development of the OnePlus devices and is considered a great hope in the industry. But who is the 31-year-old developer and what makes him so special?

Pei was born in 1989 in the Chinese capital Beijing. Shortly after his birth, his parents left the country with him and went to the USA. A few years later the family moved again and so Pei became a Swedish citizen. This is where the young developer began his bachelor's degree in Stockholm in 2008, but never completed it, as from 2011 he decided to devote all of his time to work.

The OnePlus 8T price just leaked, and it’s better than expected

The OnePlus 8T price just leaked, and it’s better than expected An Amazon listing has revealed the OnePlus 8T price before its launch, suggesting the phone will be much cheaper than expected. The OnePlus 8T is expected to deliver several hardware upgrades over the OnePlus 8, including a faster processor, a high refresh rate screen, and faster charging. The handset will supposedly cost just €599 in Europe, translating to $599 in the US. OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus 8T series will launch on October 14th, which might prove to be an unfortunate launch date. The iPhone 12 series might be unveiled on either October 13th or October 14th, according to a recent leak.

He previously worked at Nokia and met his future business partner Pete Lau at the Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo. Together, the two founded the smartphone manufacturer OnePlus in December 2013.

The billion dollar business with OnePlus

Your first device, the OnePlus One, already sold over a million times in its first financial year and thus far exceeded the expectations of the two entrepreneurs. Your first destination was the Chinese market. Pei did not expect that her smartphone would develop into a global brand so quickly. But the concept of the latest technology, elegant design and a lower price paid off and the smartphone developed into a serious competitor for Samsung and Apple .

Pei, who himself claims to work up to twelve hours a day, was also inspired by the iPhone as a model for quality and design, as he told Business Insider in an interview. The exchange between China and the western market has always been important to him. According to Pei, European manufacturers should focus more on companies from the Middle Kingdom, as processes and progress are much faster than in the rest of the world. That's why he set up an exchange program for Swedish developers who visit several Chinese companies in the course of this.

Now Pei is leaving his billionaire company and leaves a large gap in the management that his partner Lau has to fill in himself for the time being. The last smartphone he worked on was the OnePlus Nord, which has been praised by experts.

OnePlus Announces Two Actually Affordable Phones Are Coming to the U.S. .
When OnePlus released the Nord earlier this summer, I called it a tease because even though it included great specs, a slick design, and 5G support for under $500, OnePlus never had plans to release it in the U.S. (aside from a very limited beta test). But now OnePlus has announced two new members of the affordable Nord family and this time OnePlus says they’re actually going to be available stateside. © Image: OnePlus The more interesting of the two phones is Nord N10 5G, which despite a listed price tag of just 350 euros (around $415) includes a 6.
