Your browser does not support this video [ VIDEO: Premier League analysis ] The 2022 summer transfer window opens on June 10 and closes at 6pm ET on September 1. With Erling Haaland already signing for Manchester City, Kylian Mbappe staying at PSG (for now), plus Sadio Mane leaving Liverpool — and plenty of other superstars in demand and contemplating moves — this feels like it will be a summer like no other.

In view of the high Corona infection figures, sick leave due to cold complaints is now possible again by telephone and without a visit. This was decided by the Federal Joint Committee of Doctors, Health Insurance and Clinics on Thursday, as a spokeswoman announced. The regulation therefore applies for the time being to be limited until the end of November.

Patients with mild diseases of the upper respiratory tract can be on sick leave without visiting a practical visit with the doctor for up to seven days. The sick leave can also be extended for a further seven days. The regulation was already at the beginning of Corona pandemic, but had expired on June 1st in view of the more relaxed infection situation.

In the meantime, however, the numbers have risen again, explained the committee chairman Josef Hecken. At the same time, the cold and flu season will start in the coming months. "We want to avoid full waiting rooms in medical practices and avoid the emergence of new infection chains," he said. The telephone sick leave is a simple, tried and tested and nationwide uniform solution.
