Broncos' Wilson ready for some love after hostile homecoming

Broncos' Wilson ready for some love after hostile homecoming DENVER (AP) — Russell Wilson relishes the thought of taking the field Sunday for his Denver debut when the Broncos host the Houston Texans at Empower Field. Especially after his harsh homecoming in Seattle that was packed with vitriol and void of any video tributes for the man who led the franchise's only championship parade. “I'm sure excited to play here at home,” said Wilson, who had to settle for leading the Broncos (0-1) onto the field during a pair of preseason games, which he watched from the sideline in full pads and eye black.

Rejoice, Broncos Country. It’s Raider Hater week!

In week 4, the Denver Broncos are flying out to Las Vegas to face Josh McDaniels’ Raiders.

Even typing his name pains me.

This is the first time the Broncos will be facing McDaniels in a head coaching role. Over the years, the Broncos played McDaniels’ New England Patriots offense, but that time has come and gone. McDaniels is now attempting a second shot at being a head coach (or technically his third shot if you want to count when he completely fleeced the Indianapolis Colts, but whatever.)

Regardless, his tenure with the Raiders is off to a bad start. The Raiders are currently 0-3, so they are heading into the matchup against the Broncos desperate for a win. The fact that it is a rivalry game, makes things even more tense.

Broncos defense bails out AWOL offense with safety, two late takeaways in 11-10 primetime win over 49ers

Broncos defense bails out AWOL offense with safety, two late takeaways in 11-10 primetime win over 49ers When the Broncos offense went AWOL in prime time, the Denver defense was there to save the day. The Broncos forced two turnovers in the final 2:13 of the game, and also had a safety that ended up being the difference in an 11-10 win over the 49ers on Sunday Night Football at Empower Field. It was a statement performance by the Denver D, one that outside linebacker Bradley Chubb believes should put the NFL on notice. “Look at the forced fumble, the pick, the (four) sacks, and it just starts adding up,” Chubb said. “I don’t want to get too brash in saying this, but: We’re the best in the (expletive) league.

To be honest, the Broncos haven’t really had smooth sailing either. However, they are 2-1 and tied for first in the AFC West (for now.) Despite the Broncos having the better record, they cannot overlook the Raiders. As much as it pains me to say this, the Raiders have somewhat had the Broncos' number over the past few seasons.

Losing to the Raiders drives me absolutely nuts. The Broncos need this win. If they lose to the Raiders, McDaniels will probably treat it like his own personal Super Bowl (despite the fact that they’d be 1-3.) My deep hatred for McDaniels aside, a win against a divisional foe is always good when it comes to end-of-the-season tie-breakers and playoff hopes.

For more, check out this week’s episode of Broncos Binge. Dalton and I discuss our reaction to the Broncos' week 3 win, detail more hatred for McDaniels, and give our predictions for the Broncos’ big rivalry game this Sunday.
