One Big Ten school is in the market for a new starting quarterback after their 2021 starter entered the transfer portal this afternoon.

Connor Bazelak, a one-year starter at the University of Indiana, posted a tweet this morning notifying the college football world of his intent to change schools.

As a graduate transfer, Bazelak will have two years of eligibility remaining.

The following statement was authored by Bazelak as it relates to his decision to enter the portal:

"With 2 years of eligibility remaining, I have decided to enter the transfer portal and will be a graduate transfer. Grateful for the last year at Indiana. Thank you Coach Allen and Coach Bell for the opportunity to finish my degree and to continue to play the game I love. To my teammates, thank you for some great memories. We competed well against the best competition in college football - never forget that. I will miss you!"

Tom Brady re-signs damaged American flag at center of lawsuit

Tom Brady re-signs damaged American flag at center of lawsuit A couple of months ago word surfaced that Daniel Vitale, a long-time Patriots fan, was suing the team's Hall of Fame after he says they damaged an American flag that was signed by the future Hall of Fame quarterback. Vitale told TMZ this week, though, that the Patriots helped remedy the situation by working with Brady to re-sign the flag when he returned home from Germany following the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game there last week. Not only did Brady re-sign it, but Vitale says the new signature is four times the size of the original. He now plans to try and sell the flag and use some of the proceeds to raise awareness for autism.

Connor Bazelak won the Indiana starting job in 2022 after transferring in from Missouri. However, controversy surrounding a quarterback competition prior to the season weighed on Bazelak and the Hoosiers for much of the year.

According to a Sports Illustrated article covering Indiana football, Bazelak fell behind fellow signal caller Jack Tuttle in the Hoosier's quarterback competition in preseason, but ultimately ended up getting the nod at starter. That decision, per the SI piece, "turned out to be a huge mistake."

Bazelak completed just over 55% of his passing attempts for Indiana in 2022, tallying 13 touchdowns compared to 10 interceptions. Despite showing some flashes throughout the season, his inaccuracy and poor ball placement ultimately led to his benching just over halfway through the year.

Following his demotion, Tuttle started the Hoosier's November 5th game against Penn State. However, due to poor offensive line play, he suffered an upper body injury and was knocked out for the rest of the season.

Bazelak hopes to find more success in 2023 by utilizing the transfer portal for the second time in two seasons.
