The three-time All-Star and his team will not settle on a salary for 2018 prior to Friday's 1 p.m. ET deadline, according to a source of MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.

Machado, 25, was projected to earn $17.3 million, according to MLB Trade Rumors, but it appears like the outcome of his 2018 salary won't be determined until Jan. 29 when arbitration hearings are set to begin.
