Locally, John McClain and Mark Berman are also reporting Gaine and O’Brien have reached agreement with the Texans on new contracts:

The contracts keep both guys locked up in Houston through the 2022 season. Gaine’s deal is new five-year contract cementing a hire that was leaked a few days ago, while O’Brien’s is a four-year extension to add to the final year left on the original five year contract he signed when he became the head coach of the Texans back in January of 2014.

Gaine spent last season with the Bills as Vice President of Player Personnel after three seasons with the Texans’ front office. He reportedly has a strong relationship with O’Brien; the two seem allegedly see eye-to-eye on more than O’Brien did with Rick Smith.

These are your decision-makers for the next five seasons, Houston. What do you think about the contracts?

NY decrees net neutrality for web firms with state contracts .
New York state will require internet providers to observe net neutrality or risk losing eligibility for state contracts under an executive order issued Wednesday by Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The new policy aims to protect consumers by using the state's lucrative information technology contracts as leverage over internet companies. It's similar to one enacted through executive order Monday by Democratic Gov. Steve Bullock of Montana and comes as states consider how to respond after the Federal Communications Commission last month repealed its own net neutrality policy.
