Bridgewater’s last full season came in 2015, when he threw for 3,231 yards, 13 touchdowns and nine interceptions. The former first-rounder also ran for 192 yards and three touchdowns on 44 carries.

New York re-signed Josh McCown and moved up in the 2018 NFL draft from sixth overall to third overall. They also signed former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to a one-year, incentive-laden contract.

With the deal becoming official on Sunday, Bridgewater can't wait to get another chance with the Jets.

"I'm excited about the direction we're headed in," Bridgewater, who hasn't taken meaningful snaps in two years, told the Jets' website. "I'm excited to be a part of something that can be very special and I just look forward to getting to work with the guys and a great year."

Bridgewater garnered Rookie of the Year consideration in 2014 after throwing for 14 touchdowns and 12 picks with a 64.4 completion percentage. The next year, the Vikings won the NFC North Division behind his Pro Bowl campaign. He threw for 3,231 yards, 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

The big setback for Bridgewater came in August 2016 when he tore his ACL in practice. He briefly returned for a bit this past season, but only for a few plays. Mostly, he watched from the sideline as Case Keenum nearly led Minnesota to a Super Bowl appearance.

Then, last week, the Vikings moved on from both quarterbacks, instead signing Kirk Cousins to a record-setting deal. With his services no longer needed in Minnesota, Bridgewater chose to start anew in New York.
