Hirscher thwarted as final World Cup ski races cancelled

Hirscher thwarted as final World Cup ski races cancelled The record-breaking hopes of Marcel Hirscher were dashed when the final men's slalom and women's giant slalom of the season were cancelled on Sunday because of dangerously high winds in Are, Sweden. The cancellation deprived Hirscher of a possible 14th victory of the season after he equalled the record of 13 on Saturday when he took the giant slalom, bringing him level with fellow Austrian Hermann Maier and Swedish great Ingemar Stenmark.

Although I am not endorsing this website, I found the crazy win to be something pretty unique, which is why I decided to dig deeper and here is what happened. For now though, I graduated from College and now I'm enrolled in University trying to complete that as well.

What just happened?

With 7:34 left in the fourth quarter, the Milwaukee Bucks held an 18-point advantage over the Denver Nuggets. With such a large lead and little time remaining, the Bucks held a 99.6 percent chance of escaping the thin Colorado air with a big win, according to Inpredictable.com. Things did not go as planned.

“We get down, come back better in the second half. It just shows the resilience of this team.” “The challenge to them was just ‘Let’s get our heads up and go out and be us. We can win this game.’ They felt that way and they just continued to work their way back into the game.”

The win in Game 5 makes them just the 10th team in MLB history to come back from down 0-2 to win a best-of-five postseason series. The second of Gregorius' home runs gave the Yankees a 78 percent chance of winning Game 5. Things would get tighter, but Gregoirus' power display was the

BOX SCORE:  NUGGETS 128, BUCKS 125 (OT)

The first link in this improbable daisy-chain of events came with 3:43 remaining. With Milwaukee's lead cut to nine, superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo fouled out of the game on an offensive charge.

Still, with veterans like Eric Bledsoe, Khris Middleton, and Jabari Parker in tow, holding on for the victory wasn't out of the question. Unfortunately, Antetokounmpo's removal proved to be an indelicate surgery, and they just couldn't stop the bleeding.

A Nikola Jokic layup cut the deficit to three with 30.6 seconds on the clock. The Nuggets first had a chance to even the score after Parker whiffed on a nail-in-the-coffin nine-foot shot with 7.7 seconds remaining, but Paul Millsap turned the ball over. It should've been over - the game, and possibly the Nuggets' playoff hopes - right then and there, but they wouldn't quit.

There is a combined 35 percent chance that one of these two powerhouses will face the Spurs, perhaps with a healthy Kawhi Leonard , in the first round. Most likely playoff opponent: Jazz. Riding a 10-game winning streak, the Blazers have almost a 75 percent chance of holding home-court

With a three-point lead and possession with 2.9 seconds left, all the Bucks had to do was not turn the ball over. Middleton mistimed the inbound attempt to Jason Terry, and second-year guard Jamal Murray plucked the ball out of the air and unfurled it from 3-point range with hardly a moment to spare. The attempt clanked off the back of the rim, but the refs called a shooting foul on Terry, sending Murray to the line for the potential game-tying free throws.

As if injected with Rocky Mountain ice water, Murray hit all three - part of a flawless 10-for-10 night from the charity stripe. He'd finish with 27 points.

The Nuggets pulled away in overtime for a 128-125 victory. Jokic lead the way with 35 points and 13 rebounds - though the ever timely Murray was clearly the hero of the night.

The NHL needs a “Forever” moment like baseball, football and basketball have enjoyed over the past two years

The NHL needs a “Forever” moment like baseball, football and basketball have enjoyed over the past two years It’s been a wild two years for the major sports in North America. It seems nearly every championship game or series featured either a huge comeback or an insane finish. That is, in every league besides the NHL.Of the six sports in question — baseball, hockey, football, basketball, college football and college basketball — only the NHL has missed out on having a “forever” moment that will live on in memory and perhaps define the game.

You have a greater chance of winning if you have one constant and one variable versus two variables with each drawing. So if you want to win a lottery ticket the only way to increase your chance of winning is by buying the whole ticket. Or else it is just luck!

Just as improbable as the Nuggets' 18-point comeback and overtime win was, it's hard to overstate how badly Denver needed this win to keep their postseason hopes alive. Mike Malone's crew started the day just outside the playoff picture, fighting with the Los Angeles Clippers for a chance at stealing one of the final playoff berths in the Western Conference from the likes of the Utah Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves, or New Orleans Pelicans.

While their fate still lies in the performance of the teams ahead of them in the standings, for one night at least, the Nuggets can rest easy knowing they did as much as they could. It was undoubtedly the most significant performance of their season, and one of the most miraculous comebacks in recent NBA memory.
