Joe Burrow is leaving Ohio State , and there should be a pretty high demand for his services on the graduate transfer market. Burrow , a redshirt junior quarterback, competed throughout spring practice with Dwayne Haskins and Tate Martell for the Buckeyes’ starting role. He made a good case to earn

Former Ohio State quarterback Joe Burrow has lined up some transfer options after announcing his decision to leave Ohio State . I think what was offered was an opportunity to compete this summer, and that wasn't good enough considering Burrow ' s ability to transfer and be eligible immediately

Burrow, a former Ohio Mr. Football in 2014 at Athens High, played well in the spring game each of the last three offseasons, and it's clear the school that lands him will get a quarterback who should get a shot in the NFL. Which schools will get that chance? Here are a few enticing candidates:

Nebraska

Burrow's father, Jimmy, and brothers, Jamie and Dan, all played for the Cornhuskers. Joe would simply be the next man up, and this would be an interesting play for coach Scott Frost, who must replace three-year starter Tanner Lee in his first season in Lincoln.

Florida

The Gators have had a perpetual need at quarterback, and Dan Mullen — a Meyer assistant who groomed Tim Tebow and Dak Prescott — wouldn't have to rush true freshman Emory Jones. It also gives Florida an efficient quarterback. That hasn't happened in a while.

After weeks of struggling with this decision, I have decided to leave Ohio State and explore other options . Burrow , a 6'3", 215-pounder from The Plains, Ohio , made clear a transfer was a possibility after the spring game. “I didn’t come here to sit on the bench for four years, and I know I’m a pretty

Texas

Tom Herman recruited Burrow at Ohio State, but this could shake up the competition between Sam Ehlinger and Shane Buechele a little too much. It's a risk for the Longhorns and for Burrow, but don't rule it out.

LSU

What continues to hold back the Tigers? It's quarterback play, and a three-way competition was left unresolved in the spring. Ed Orgeron needs a quarterback. Burrow needs a place to play. They could make it work, especially considering the talent with whom he'd be playing.

Cincinnati

Second-year coach Luke Fickell knows Burrow well from his time at Ohio State, and it makes sense for the Bearcats. Burrow would put up big numbers in the American Athletic Conference, and he'd get to stay in his home state.

Pitt

It's close to home, and this is a competition Burrow could win. The Panthers' offensive system also fits his skill set. Pat Narduzzi could be willing to take a chance here, despite a lack of connections.

Ohio State Grad Transfer QB Joe Burrow to Visit Cincinnati, LSU

Ohio State Grad Transfer QB Joe Burrow to Visit Cincinnati, LSU Ohio State grad transfer quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to take a visit to Cincinnati on Thursday and LSU this weekend, a source told SI. The 6’3”, 220-pound Burrow has two seasons of eligibility remaining. The Bearcats are coached by former Ohio State assistant Luke Fickell and have an established starter at QB in Hayden Moore who threw for 20 touchdowns and almost 2,600 yards in 2017. LSU’s quarterback situation is murkier with three QBs who battled for the vacant starting spot that Danny Etling leaves behind.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State quarterback Joe Burrow announced on Tuesday that he will transfer from the Buckeyes football program. Burrow ' s father Jimmy played at Nebraska, as did Joe 's brothers Jamie and Dan. The family ties there suggest Nebraska could be a good fit for Burrow , and

Quarterback Joe Burrow , who graduated from Ohio State on Sunday, just announced that he will transfer to a new school for this fall. He wrote, “ After weeks of struggling with this decision, I have decided to leave Ohio State and explore other options . My teammates and coaches all know the

Boston College

Burrow fits in Boston College's system and would make the Eagles more competitive in the ACC under Steve Addazio, another former Meyer assistant.

That doesn't even include long-shots like TCU, the Buckeyes' opponent on Sept. 15, or Ohio, where Burrow's father is a defensive coordinator for Frank Solich.

One of these schools is going to get Burrow, and in so doing will get a quarterback who can contribute immediately. It wouldn't be a shock to watch Burrow take the same leap Mitchell Trubisky had with North Carolina in 2016. He's that good. And if he finds the right system, an FBS program is going to reap the rewards.

Somebody is going to get a significant upgrade real soon.

Meyer provides update on Ohio State QB situation .
Urban Meyer provided a rare update on Ohio State’s quarterback situation while speaking at a luncheon on Monday. Meyer spoke at the Hall of Fame Luncheon Club in Canton and was asked about numerous topics, such as his thoughts on multiple players who were selected in the NFL Draft. The significant comments came when he talked about the Buckeyes’ QBs.“This is really the first time I’ve talked about this since the spring game, but as of now it looks like Dwayne Haskins will get the first opportunity to be the starter,” Meyer said, according to the Canton Repository’s Joe Scalzo.
