That apparently was particularly impactful because Witten never misses workouts.

If the first bold prediction Jason Witten has made since he retired from football becomes a reality, Aaron Rodgers is going to have another new weapon to throw to this upcoming season.

In an appearance on “The Adam Schefter Podcast” on Monday, Witten was asked for his thoughts on former teammate Dez Bryant still being a free agent. The Pro Bowl tight end said he believes Bryant is going to sign with the Green Bay Packers.

“I think Dez is certainly going to have plenty of opportunities,” Witten said. “He’s motivated, and I think he’s going to end up going to the Green Bay Packers. I think that’s a great spot for him. Aaron Rodgers throws that back-shoulder throw well, and Dez (would have) great chemistry with a quarterback who can put the ball wherever he wants.”

REPORT: NFL Insider Says Jason Witten to ESPN is 'a Done Deal'

REPORT: NFL Insider Says Jason Witten to ESPN is 'a Done Deal' 11-time Pro Bowler. Two-time All Pro. Walter Payton Man of the Year. Oh yeah, and 68 receiving touchdowns to go with 12,448 receiving yards. It has been one heck of a career for Jason Witten. But, the Dallas Cowboy seems to be ready to hang up the cleats. Witten has been pondering retirement, while Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett has been urging the legend to return for one more go-around. Witten doesn't seem too keen on the idea of throwing the pads on again, and he reportedly is close to getting a deal done with ESPN to join the broadcast booth.

Witten believes Green Bay is a "great spot" for Bryant . "I think Dez is certainly going to have some great opportunities. He's motivated and I think he's going to end up going to the Green Bay Packers ," Jason Witten , the recently retired Cowboys tight end , told The Adam Schefter Podcast.

Now that Jason Witten is being paid to have an opinion, he offered his thoughts on the Dez Bryant free-agency speculation. "He's motivated, and I think he's going to end up going to the Green Bay Packers .

Witten made it clear that he does not have any inside information about where Bryant might end up, and he also mentioned the New Orleans Saints as another potential landing spot.

“I still believe Dez can high-point the football as good as any other receiver in the NFL,” Witten added. “You partner him up with Jimmy Graham and Aaron Rodgers, I think that offense can put up a lot of points. Losing Jordy Nelson in the offseason, I think it’s a win-win for the Packers. I look for him to go there.”

Bryant is said to be seeking a one-year “prove it” contract, but there have been reports that a lot of teams aren’t interested in him at any price. The fact that he was released so late in the offseason doesn’t help.

The Packers are an intriguing option for Bryant, especially given the supposed tension between Rodgers and the team this offseason. Adding a player like Bryant might take away some of the sting of losing Nelson.

Ezekiel Elliott backs Dez Bryant with tweet .
Dez Bryant may no longer be a member of the Dallas Cowboys, but he still has Ezekiel Elliott in his corner. Bryant was on Twitter Tuesday sparring with followers over reports and talks about his future. He said the media was “betraying” him and called them a “joke.” Elliott took a break from tweeting about the Eastern Conference Finals to express his support for Dez. Doubt 88 all you want. He gone ball regardless #ThrowUpTheX — Ezekiel Elliott (@EzekielElliott) May 16, 2018 “Doubt 88 all you want. He gone ball regardless,” Elliott said of Bryant. Not a ton of Cowboys talked about Bryant after the Cowboys released him in the offseason, perhaps because they were told not to. But Elliott has supported him all along, calling the move “tough” last month. Bryant remains a free agent following his release by the Cowboys and seems to indicate that is by intention. His former teammate Jason Witten thinks Dez will end up signing with one NFC North team.
