LeBron Proves, Once Again, That He Refuses to Be Kept Out of the NBA Finals LeBron James won’t settle for anything less than a shot at a championship. James is headed to his eighth straight Finals—and fourth straight with Cleveland—after the Cavaliers escaped Boston with 87–79 win in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals on Sunday. Jeff Green aided the Cavs’ effort with 19 points, while Jayson Tatum had 24 in a losing effort for the Celtics.

The Philadelphia Eagles' Tuesday visit to the White House was canceled after Donald Trump learned that the Eagles were sending a small contingent of players.

On Tuesday, LeBron James was asked to address Trump's rescinded invitation to the Eagles. He said that he wasn't surprised.

James said that regardless of who wins their series, neither the Cavs nor the Warriors want an invite to the White House.

The last time LeBron James made a visit to the White House as an NBA champion, the Cleveland Cavaliers were celebrating their NBA title with Barack Obama. That same day in November 2016, then-president-elect Donald Trump was at the White House to meet with Obama.

Given the divisive nature of Trump's statements on the campaign trail, former Cavaliers player Richard Jefferson predicted in 2016 that we'd see a lot of "scheduling conflicts" from teams during the Trump presidency. LeBron, though, was less inclined to make a decisive remark about a potential championship visit to the Trump White House. LeBron said in 2016:

"I don't know. That's something I would cross. We'll have to cross that road, I guess. We'll see. I would love to have to cross that road."

During the Trump presidency, LeBron has become more willing to speak publicly about the White House visits. In 2017, when Trump "uninvited" the Warriors after the team had already said they weren't going, LeBron tweeted "U bum" about Trump and added, "Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!"

Tuesday's comments marked that LeBron is no longer waiting to "cross that road."

The Cavaliers and the Warriors have already made their decisions, according to LeBron and Steph Curry.
