Most of the time, baseball is a wonderful part of our lives. It’s the friend who’s always there, and the most welcome of distractions as we make our way through this....tumultuous (sure, we’ll go with that) time. Sometimes, though, it has a tendency to rip our hearts out with little to no mercy and exactly no warning. That was the case on Friday for fans of many teams, as it seemed like the day consisted of a nonstop barrage of injuries to some of the more prominent pitchers in the game.

Apparently, he felt some stiffness in his elbow while he was recovering from the blister, so the Angels got that checked out. He was diagnosed and while no decisions have been made he’ll wait three weeks to be evaluated. Life is stupid. What’s the lesson here? Never go to the doctor, because then they can’t tell you what’s wrong with you and you’ll live forever. (Note: Don’t do that.)
Ohtani will, and should, get the most headlines among the injured pitchers, but he wasn’t the only prominent All-Star to go down.
