Report: Ravens could still sign Dez Bryant, if price is right

Report: Ravens could still sign Dez Bryant, if price is right Despite one failed attempt to bring Dez Bryant into the fold, the Baltimore Ravens might still have interest in signing the former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver. During a video mailbag session on the team’s official website, the question of whether Bryant could still be in the team’s plans came up. And the answer to that question was yes.

Lamar Jackson clearly is making a phenomenal first impression on his Baltimore Ravens teammates during the team’s offseason activities, with one player comparing him to a “young Michael Vick.”

The Ravens selected Jackson with the 32nd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft with the expectation he would be Joe Flacco’s heir apparent. However, the Ravens have consistently indicated Jackson won’t be on the sideline holding a clipboard as the team intends to maximize the signal-caller’s myriad talents by quickly integrating him into the offense.

And what Ravens players have seen so far out of Jackson have left them eager to see more.

Lamar Jackson has incredible ability in the open field, which is why the Ravens believe they need to find creative ways to get him involved. Evan Habeeb/USA TODAY Sports. "Every time he runs I'm in awe because most people -- especially a quarterback -- can't move the way he does," wide receiver

“Every time he runs I’m in awe because most people — especially a quarterback — can’t move the way he does,” Ravens wide receiver Chris Moore marveled after the first day of minicamp this week, via ESPN. “So you just know that this year he’s going to make some plays, for sure.”

Linebacker C.J. Mosley took it one step further, likening him to another dynamic young quarterback who took the NFL by storm way back when.

“Once he gets out of the pocket, it’s like watching a young Michael Vick,” Mosley said. “It’s amazing to watch. When you’re defending him, you just have to act like you’re tagging off — you don’t want to be on the highlight reel.”

The Ravens, from head coach Jim Harbaugh on down, have lavished praise on Jackson ever since the draft. Harbaugh has even hinted at employing two-QB sets to get Jackson on the field more often in certain situations.

While Flacco may not be too thrilled about Jackson’s presence, it’s evident the Ravens plan to utilize the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback out of Louisville in as many ways possible.
