It appears that one touted signee in Auburn’s most recent recruiting class won’t be making it to The Plains after all.

Per multiple media outlets, Kayode Oladele will not be enrolling in classes at Auburn as had previously been expected.  The development stems from some type of unspecified academic issue for Oladele, a native of Nigeria who did not play his senior season of high school football because of visa issues.

Oladele has been waiting for final word from the NCAA Clearinghouse on his eligibility. He said he had to take one extra class this summer, which he passed.

  Deputies: Homeless man set fire to Auburn home with baby inside A homeless man was arrested on arson charges after he started a fire inside an Auburn-area home where a mother and her baby were inside, according to the Placer County Sheriff's Office. Witnesses told investigators that a man, identified as Dylan R. Fain, 25, poured fuel on the door of the condominium laundry room in the 11000 block of Garnet Way on July 3, deputies said. Fain ran from the area after he lit the fire in the laundry room, which is located under the child's bedroom, officers said. Cal Fire firefighters quickly extinguished the fire before there was significant damage. The mother and her baby were able to escape the blaze uninjured. Detectives and evidence technicians investigated the scene and were able to identify Fain as the arson suspect, according to officers. Deputies found Fain, who is a transient out of the Auburn area, and arrested him a few hours later. He is being held in the Placer County Jail on charges of arson of an inhabited dwelling and child endangerment. His bail is set at $250,000.

Four - star defensive end Richard Jibunor is committed to Auburn but won ' t sign today, per a report. Monday is already on campus and practicing this week, while Sherwood will enroll in January. Four - star running back Asa Martin was the first official signee of the early signing period for Auburn .

Auburn wrapped up its 2018 signing class on Wednesday, securing nine more signatures to bring the class to 24 total signees . Four - star dual-threat quarterback Joey Gatewood signed with Auburn in December and is enrolled in classes for the spring.

A four-star member of the Tigers’ 2018 recruiting class, Oladele was rated as the No. 13 strongside defensive end in the country and the No. 54 player at any position in the state of Florida.  He was the highest-rated end in AU’s class this year.
