Former 5-Star WR Demetris Robertson Set to Commit to New School Next Week

Former 5-Star WR Demetris Robertson Set to Commit to New School Next Week Who will land the best transfer target available this summer? We'll have our answer to that question next Saturday. Earlier this year, Demetris Robertson surprised many by announcing he'd be leaving Cal to pursue a different opportunity. Coming out of high school in 2016, Robertson was ranked a 5-star recruit and the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation. As for that next opportunity? Four teams remain in the hunt to land his services. pic.twitter.

Many recruits have improved their stock, but, even near the top of the rankings, some elite talents have turned it up One of the players mentioned is Georgia five-star edge rusher commitment Nolan Smith (Savannah, Ga ./IMG Academy). Isaiah Wynn, New England come to terms on rookie contract.

Now that Nike’s The Opening elite camp and several other destinations for high profile college football prospects have concluded, the national recruiting services have begun their customary late summer recalibration of recruiting rankings.

That’s been good news for at least one UGA recruit. IMG Academy defensive end Nolan Smith, fresh off an eye-popping performance at the Nike event in Frisco, Texas, has moved up to become 247Sports’ #1 overall prospect in the nation for 2019. Smith wasn’t exactly a sleeper going into The Opening, ranking as the #2 overall prospect in the country behind fellow edge rusher Zach Harrison. But Smith’s combination of size, speed, and strength was clearly on another level, and he tested off the charts in SPARQ portion of the program.

Former Cal WR Robertson transferring home to Georgia

Former Cal WR Robertson transferring home to Georgia Former California wide receiver Demetris Roberston says he is transferring to Georgia, returning to his home state. Roberston was a five-star recruit out of Savannah, Georgia, in 2016 who chose to head west to play his college ball, picking Cal over Georgia, Notre Dame and others. Robertson had a strong freshman season with 50 catches for 767 yards and seven touchdowns, but missed all but two games last season for what was called a lower body injury that eventually needed surgery. He announced his decision to transfer to Georgia with a YouTube video posted Saturday.

A Georgia commit just took the crown as the nation ' s most athletic football recruit in the class of 2018. — Nolan Smith II (@SmithNoland2) July 2, 2018. Five-star linebacker and Auburn commitment Owen Pappoe (Loganville, Ga ./Grayson) came in second with a 140.25 rating, including

Also making a big move was Upson-Lee defensive tackle Travon Walker, who jumped all the way from #24 to #7 and is now firmly among the five star prospects. Georgia remains the presumptive favorite for Walker’s signature, though South Carolina, Alabama, Clemson, and Auburn are all still recruiting him.

It wasn’t all good news for the Red and Black, however, as Cedar Grove wide receiver and UGA commit Jadon Haselwood fell slightly from #4 to #11. That said, Haselwood is still rated a five star recruit by 247, and remains the top-rated wide receiver recruit in the country. Fellow receiver commit Dominick Blaylock of Walton High fell from #23 to #35. From what I was able to see of The Opening Blaylock continues to be as good a route runner as any receiver in the country. But some excellent showings by players at other positions and some concerns about his size seem to have been likely factors for the drop.

Ryan Smith, his wife, Lora Smith, and their son, Caleb, were pronounced dead when their bodies were found last week, days after the family was killed on July 4, the Interior Ministry of Georgia announced Monday.Police began searching for the family last Friday after someone notified them that the Smiths and their son, all of whom have dual citizenship in Georgia and the U.S., were missing.

Other players of interest making moves included:

Destrahan, Louisiana tailback John Emery, Jr. jumping from #36 to #16. Emery is considering Mississippi State, LSU, Florida, Georgia, and Southern Cal among others.

Grayson standout and Auburn commit Owen Pappoe remains a five star prospect, but jumped ten slots from #20 to #10.

Mississippi inside linebacker Nakobe Dean, a top UGA target, dropped five spots from #15 to #20 in the nation and is now a four star prospect.

Forest Park defensive end Justin Eboigbe, a top three prospect in our Peach State top 20 released back in February, jumped all the way from out of the top 247 up to # 152. Personally, I would love to see the Red and Black flip this Alabama commit.

Go ‘Dawgs!!!

Purdue freshman WR squats 600 pounds .
Incoming Purdue freshman wide receiver Rondale Moore is 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds (soaking wet). But we’d probably be best off not letting Moore in on this little secret. As he prepares for his initial season with the Boilermakers, the four-star recruit just posted this absurd video of him doing some lifting.
