Tyler White powers Astros to huge walk-off win over Oakland
The most meaningful home run of the Astros season arrived from their most unheralded hero. Tyler White skied a walk-off solo home run against Jeurys Familia in the ninth inning of Wednesday's rubber match to beat the Athletics 5-4, continuing his torrid tear after the All-Star break and affording his team a 2 ½ game lead in the American League West. White struck two more hits on Wednesday — a seventh-inning single that went for naught and the game-winning shot against the former Mets closer. He has multiple hits in five of his last seven games. Only three American League players have better OPS numbers since the All-Star break.

In the aftermath of a potential postseason showdown between the Red Sox and Astros, which Boston won 6-5, outfielder Josh Reddick took to Twitter to seemingly question a call from the seventh inning.
With the game tied 5-5, second baseman Jose Altuve was ruled out at the plate following a grounder from Yuli Gurriel.

The Astros challenged the call but it stood after a review of three minutes and 50 seconds.
Others joined Reddick to bring attention to the image of Altuve sliding into home.
2018 MLB call-ups: From veterans to top prospects, every team's most interesting September promotion
Some teams call up top prospects, others have no top prospects to call upFor now, the rules are the rules, and every team called up extra players in recent days. A third catcher, an extra lefty reliever, an extra bench bat for an NL team, whatever. Some call-ups are more interesting than others. Some are top prospects and others are journeymen looking to extend their careers. And, truth be told, September call-ups rarely have an impact. Most only get to play in extra innings or blowouts.
