Celtics legend Larry Bird and Oklahoma sophomore Brady Manek don't sound like they'd have much in common, but the Sooners forward does happen to He also happens to be the same height (6'9") as Bird and so he looks nearly identical to the Hall of Famer from Indiana State . The 61-year-old Bird

He's 6 feet, 9 inches tall. Yes, that'll work just fine.

He has dirty blond hair and a wispy-thin mustache. Perfect.

He's unassuming, yet he's a star player on the court.

Larry Bird, meet Brady Manek — your identical twin.

Fans at the University of Oklahoma say they've had to do a double take when they see Manek, a sophomore standout for the Sooners, around campus.

Oklahoma sports reporter Brandon Drumm recently tweeted that "Manek's transformation to Larry Bird is almost complete."

Almost? It's complete.

Manek is embracing the look of the Indiana State University-turned-Boston Celtics star, at least of late.

In fact, it seems like he might be doing it on purpose.

It was just February when Manek had a short, almost buzz cut hairstyle. In his red Sooners uniform, he didn't look much like Bird at all.

But now, as basketball season approaches, Manek is a pure Bird doppelganger.

Manek did not respond to IndyStar's request for an interview. But when Carlin Hartman, assistant coach for Oklahoma, called him a "perfect representation of the great Larry Bird," Manek retweeted it. And he added: "Just a boy and a dream."

In 32 games, 26 starts as a freshman last season, Manek averaged 10.2 points (ninth among Big 12 freshmen) and 5.2 rebounds (fourth for Big 12 freshmen) in 23.7 minutes.

Manek finished his first season shooting .466 from the field and .383 from 3-point range -- making 59 3-pointers, the fourth most ever to be made by an Oklahoma freshman.

He was one of only nine Division I freshmen to pull down at least 160 rebounds and 50 3-pointers and one of three Big 12 freshmen to average more than 10 points and 5 rebounds.

So, it seems, Manek has  the looks -- and it appears the shooting skills -- to give Bird some competition.

Bird didn't immediately respond to IndyStar's request for his thoughts on how Manek measures up to him looks-wise.
