With the team’s win Tuesday, Popovich passed Pat Riley on the all-time wins list. After the Spurs’ 111-86 win over the Phoenix Suns, Popovich moved to fourth all-time on the coaching wins list. He sits just 10 wins away from tying Jerry Sloan with 1,221 wins. Getting any higher than that may have to wait a bit longer. Lenny Wilkens sits in second with 1,332 wins. Don Nelson owns the top spot, coming in at 1,335 wins. Popovich, who now has 1,211 wins, needs 124 wins to tie Nelson for the record.

LeBron James helped the Los Angeles Lakers take down the San Antonio Spurs with one of those vintage Bron performances: a 42-point, 5-rebound, 6-assist masterpiece that included some crazy shots from distance:

I'd bet if you were Spurs coach Gregg Popovich and you had a courtside seat for that loss, you'd feel pretty grumpy about it. So it shouldn't be a surprise that he had a gruff answer to a reporter who asked what made James so tough to guard:

"Have you watched LeBron play before? … He's LeBron James, that's what makes it difficult to guard him."

That sums it all up.
