Eagles start trash-talking Cowboys early: 'They always choke'

Eagles start trash-talking Cowboys early: 'They always choke' The winner of the Eagles-Cowboys matchup on Sunday will be in first place in the NFC East.

Rayne Dakota " Dak " Prescott (born July 29, 1993) is an American football quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL).

With impressive performances in preseason play , Cowboys rookie QB Dak Prescott looks like the real deal. But can his hot streak continue if called upon in Even after having Prescott in the building and watching backup Kellen Moore break his ankle early in camp, the Cowboys reportedly tried to sign

FRISCO, Texas – Yes, Dak Prescott said, “I’ve heard it.”

News of Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill’s latest bulletin board material did reach the Dallas Cowboys locker room three days before the division matchup.

“I mean, look at Dallas’ history,” Grugier-Hill said Wednesday. “They always choke. So we’ll go down there and make them choke.”

Sunday at AT&T Stadium, the defending Super Bowl champions will have their chance to back up those words.

Prescott's 3rd TD to Cooper lifts Cowboys over Eagles in OT

Prescott's 3rd TD to Cooper lifts Cowboys over Eagles in OT Dak Prescott threw his third touchdown pass to Amari Cooper on the first possession of overtime, and the Dallas Cowboys took a big step toward the NFC East title with a 29-23 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. BOX SCORE: COWBOYS 29, EAGLES 23 On third down, Rasul Douglas tipped the pass into the air, and Cooper grabbed it and had a clear path to the end zone from the Philadelphia 7. The Cowboys used almost all of the 10-minute overtime, scoring with 1:55 remaining.

Late in the Cowboys ’ 27-17 win Sunday vs. the Ravens, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott drew rave reviews for a late-game decision he made. The rookie QB tried to throw out a paper cup, missed the trash can, and responded as any upstanding citizen should — by getting up

Prescott was unfazed.

“Who?” he quipped first, when asked about the remark.

“You know, coach (Jason) Garrett has a great saying and I don’t know where he got it from,” Prescott followed up. “ ‘Winners worry about winning and losers worry about winners.’

“We’re focused on ourselves in this locker room and what we need to do to get better in each and every phase of this game to be ready for this week."

The talk isn’t anything new for the rivalry.

Cowboys defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford said last month that “every single time I’ve played the Eagles, I’ve talked a lot of crap and just try to crack as many heads as I can.”

But until kickoff, Prescott said, “we’re not worried about he said-she said."

“That’s the reason they talk trash," Prescott said. "It brings clout, it brings attention. And if that’s what they want, good for them.”

Winners and losers from 'Thursday Night Football' in Week 13

Winners and losers from 'Thursday Night Football' in Week 13 To say that we expected a well-played game between two teams in the Saints and Cowboys who had combined for 13 consecutive wins heading into Thursday night would be an understatement. While we did see a ton of drama unfold in Big D, the game itself was not well played. Dallas fumbled the ball three times — losing two in the process. Drew Brees struggled to do anything of substance against a swarming Cowboys defense. That included pretty much a game-ending interception late in the final stanza. BOX SCORE: COWBOYS 13, SAINTS 10 In the end, Dallas came out on top by the score of 13-10 in a huge win for Jason Garrett’s squad.

In six months, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has gone from a fourth-round draft pick to one of the league' s top rookies. The first five weeks of quarterback Dak Prescott ' s pro career suggest he' s the most prepared rookie passer in the NFL and a perfect fit for a franchise hoping to make a transition.

The divisional and playoff stakes are high for Sunday. The Eagles’ two-game win streak sends them to Arlington at 6-6, while the Cowboys are at 7-5 after a four-game run. Dallas launched the streak Nov. 11 with a 27-20 win at Lincoln Financial Field behind 187 yards and two touchdowns from Ezekiel Elliott. Rookie linebacker Leighton Vander Esch intercepted Carson Wentz in the game.

But this rivalry, unusually, has featured the road team prevailing in nine of the last 11 meetings. Neither team has swept the series since Dallas did so in 2012.

So the Cowboys stand ready.

“Oh man,” linebacker Jaylon Smith said of Grugier-Hill’s comments. “That’s crazy. That’s a rival game. You get guys that talk a lot.

“When the lights turn on, we’re prepared.”

Both coaches preached preparation on Thursday, with Garrett insisting the Cowboys “focus on ourselves” when asked about the jab, while Doug Pederson called the remark “unfortunate.'

Winners, losers from Eagles-Redskins 'Monday Night Football'

Winners, losers from Eagles-Redskins 'Monday Night Football' The Philadelphia Eagles hosted the Washington Redskins for an NFC East edition of “Monday Night Football” to cap off a lively NFL Week 13. Both teams needed a win badly to keep up with the Dallas Cowboys in the division. RELATED: Eagles win The Redskins got dealt a cruel blow when Colt McCoy was forced to exit with a leg injury, but then something remarkable happened that turned the game upside down. In the end, however, the home team was just too strong. Philadelphia would cruise to victory, winning 28-13 to improve to 6-6 on the season. Washington fell to 6-6, and the NFC East is suddenly a very crowded place.

Cowboys ' Dak Prescott : Turns in efficient outing. Prescott completed 24 of 28 passes for 248 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in the Cowboys ' 13-10 win over the Saints on Thursday.

Dak Prescott wasn't quoting the catch phrase of Neil Patrick Harris' character on the television sitcom How I Met Your Mother. The Cowboys quarterback was responding to what he felt was trash talk started by Giants safety Landon Collins. "Challenge accepted," Prescott told media in Dallas.

“But I think it’s already bulletin-board material,” Pederson told Dallas reporters in a conference call. “So we’re well past that.”

The Cowboys made their own waves with one of their players' remarks last week, upsetting the then-10-1 New Orleans Saints after Cowboys defensive end Demarcus Lawrence said Drew Brees’ offense would “have to match our intensity."

“If you hit a (expletive) in the mouth and then they ain’t doing what they’re regularly doing, putting up 50 points, they start to get a little distressed,” Lawrence said. “Now you got them, where you want them at.

“And then you (expletive) choke their (expletive) out.”

The Cowboys backed it up in a 13-10 win, No Saints squad since 2001 had produced fewer yards (176) in a game.

This week, the Cowboys have another statement to make as they pursue a two-game lead over the Eagles in the division race.

“Those big games like that, that’s all talk,” Prescott said. “I know myself and a bunch of guys in here are more about action.

“Talk is cheap.”

How Amari Cooper Has Saved the Cowboys’ 2018 Season

How Amari Cooper Has Saved the Cowboys’ 2018 Season Before the Amari Cooper trade, Dallas appeared headed for another lost season, with Jason Garrett likely losing his job at the end of it. But Cooper has changed everything for the Cowboys' offense.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott cooks up a wild scrambling 5-yard touchdown run. Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper breaks loose for a 90-yard touchdown on a pass from his quarterback Dak Prescott .

But Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott on Friday simply said that he and Bryant will continue to work to fix what' s been a lacking connection over two seasons. "Me and Dez, we're continuously growing," Prescott said during an appearance on The Newy Scruggs Show on NBC Sports Radio.

Cowboys are going to have some tough business decisions to make.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones repeatedly has said that he would pay a huge amount of money to guarantee a Super Bowl. He will eventually end up paying huge amounts of money with no guarantee that he’ll ever win anything. Between the promised contract extension for quarterback Dak Prescott, the second contract to be given to receiver Amari Cooper, and the looming second franchise tag for defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, the Cowboys will encounter major financial obligations in the not-too-distant future. Lawrence will make $20.5 million in 2019, if tagged again.
