Report: Chiefs set to sign WR Benjamin

Report: Chiefs set to sign WR Benjamin Wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, who was released earlier this week by the Buffalo Bills, is set to sign a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, multiple media outlets reported Thursday night. After being waived by the Bills on Tuesday, Benjamin went unclaimed on waivers Wednesday, making him a free agent. By signing with Kansas City, Benjamin is likely to play for a team that will be in the playoffs. He will become a free agent again after this season. Buffalo acquired Benjamin last October, sending third- and seventh-round draft picks to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for Benjamin.

Samuel Benjamin Watkins IV (born June 14, 1993) is an American football wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL).

Sammy Watkins misses another practice with foot injury. It looks like there was a setback for Watkins coming out of the bye. In a game in which they don't likely need him to beat the Raiders the Chiefs could opt to allow Watkins to continue to rest the injury.

Now we know why the Kansas City Chiefs signed receiver Kelvin Benjamin, who was cut by the offensively-challenged Buffalo Bills.

On Friday there were reports about receiver Sammy Watkins and his foot injury. Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star said Watkins is out four-to-six more weeks. That came after Carrington Harrison, of Sports Radio 610, said Watkins reinjured his foot in practice Thursday. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said Watkins couldn’t go in practice Thursday because of his foot and “the best option is likely to rest until January.”

Tyreek Hill reportedly considered day-to-day

Tyreek Hill reportedly considered day-to-day The prognosis on Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s injured foot appears to be good. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Hill’s injury is not considered serious, and he’s being viewed as day-to-day. A further examination of the foot injury that Chiefs’ WR Tyreek Hill sustained Sunday showed “nothing serious” and he now will be considered “day to day”, per source. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) December 10, 2018 The assessment is

Watkins isn't expected to play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Packers, Nate Taylor of The Athletic Kansas City reports. As is almost customary for starters in the final preseason contest, Watkins will most likely join his fellow starters on the sidelines to ensure his health for the opener and allow for

Whatever happened, it appears the Chiefs will be without another key offensive piece for a while longer.

Sammy Watkins has been key part of Chiefs offense

Watkins hasn’t played since Nov. 19 against the Rams, when he caught one pass and left with an injury.

Watkins has 519 yards and three touchdowns this season. He has been a big piece of an offense that is led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, a top MVP candidate. The Chiefs are 10-2, but still just one game ahead of the Chargers in the AFC West.

The Chiefs have Tyreek Hill at receiver and a great tight end in Travis Kelce, but not a ton of pass catchers beyond them now that Watkins is out. The Chiefs also lost running back Kareem Hunt, who was cut when a video of him shoving and kicking a woman was released.

The Chiefs are loading up their offense to give Patrick Mahomes the best chance next year.

Clayton Kershaw will miss anywhere from four to six weeks based on an initial report from the best in the business when it comes to baseball news, Ken Rosenthal. Sources: Initial prognosis is that #Dodgers’ Kershaw will miss 4 to 6 weeks . Final determination will be made after he sees Dr. Watkins .

The Chiefs still have a stellar offense, but they’ve lost two key playmakers. Hunt is permanently gone, and Watkins will reportedly miss the rest of the regular season.

Chiefs still have a lot to play for

The Chiefs have been the best team in the AFC this season, but they still have a lot of work to do over the last four weeks. With a loss or two, they could lose the AFC West or the chance to get the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

Kansas City plays Baltimore and its fantastic pass defense this week, then has a crucial AFC West showdown with the Chargers next Thursday.

It seems they’ll be without Watkins for those games, and the rest of the regular season. The Chiefs have to hope at this point that he’ll be good to go for the playoffs.

Kareem Hunt reportedly enters counseling for alcohol, anger management The former Chiefs running back is being investigated by the NFL for three separate violent incidents that occurred in the past year. He was released by Kansas City on Nov. 30 after video emerged of him shoving and kicking a woman in Cleveland at The Metropolitan at the 9 in February. It was later revealed that he allegedly punched a man in the face in June and attacked a man at a nightclub in January.

Watkins suffered a fracture in his left foot which limited him to only eight games in his third year. This signing is a surprising one for the Chiefs .
