MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers weren’t about to let fatigue get the better of them on the second night of a back-to-back. The Lakers recovered from a loss Friday night in San Antonio to dominate Memphis, defeating the Grizzlies 111-88 on Saturday

Wayne Selden led Memphis with 17 points. Mike Conley added 12 points while struggling from the field, shooting 4 of 12 on the night, as Memphis shot 41 percent overall.

The Lakers extended their lead to as many as 29 before taking a 91-66 advantage into the fourth quarter. By the midway point of the fourth, Memphis had not made a significant dent in the Lakers' lead and Grizzlies coach J.B. Bickerstaff emptied his bench.

Los Angeles built a big lead early as Memphis struggled shooting, most notably from outside. The Grizzlies made two of their first 13 3-point attempts.

The Lakers were willing to let the Grizzlies continue chucking 3s. Los Angeles clogged the middle and closed off lanes to the basket, and Memphis was intimidated enough that the Grizzlies were inclined to pass outside.

Lakers able to laugh about it as they rally to top Mavs

Lakers able to laugh about it as they rally to top Mavs LOS ANGELES_By the final few minutes of the fourth quarter, the Los Angeles Lakers could afford to laugh at private jokes and to sit LeBron James, who pretended to playfully karate chop Lonzo Ball's head when Ball left the game to join James on the bench, too. They had a comfortable lead, something they hadn't experienced in more than a week and a half, and something they haven't achieved often this season. They were enjoying it. The Lakers beat the Dallas Mavericks, 114-103, for their second win in as many nights, and the second of a four-game homestand. James finished with 28 points, four assists and five rebounds.
