Amid the Golden State Warriors' surge back atop the Western Conference and the successful return of DeMarcus Cousins, questions regarding Kevin Durant's free agency still linger around the team.

However, Warriors general manager Bob Myers is confident that Durant will remain in the Bay Area beyond this season.

"I feel like all of our players are happy and want to stay with us and continue with us," Warriors general manager Bob Myers said when asked about Durant's future with the team, according to The Mercury News' Mark Medina. "That's how I feel. But again, I've only worked in the NBA as an agent and in this capacity."

Durant's rumored departure already caused a mess in Golden State's locker room earlier this season when he and Draymond Greenengaged in a verbal spat about KD's impending free agency. Rival executives reportedly believe that the New York Knicks are convinced that the 2014 MVP will join them after they opened up additional cap space by dealing a package centered around Kristaps Porzingis.

"I don't think you can honestly answer anything. That goes for players, too, until the season is over," Myers said. "You can ask anybody in the organization and say, 'What kind of season are you having?' They'll say, 'Ask me when the season is over.' I don't know. It's hard to say."

In addition to Durant, Klay Thompson will almost certainly decline his player option after the season concludes. Reports have suggested the sharpshooter could join the Los Angeles Lakers if he isn't offered a max contract by the Warriors and if L.A. acquires Anthony Davis.

Kevin Durant finally addresses his silence, as loudly as he can.
This season, the Warriors have morphed from robotic destructor of the NBA into Team Soap Opera. And the drama boiled over, hot and scalding on Wednesday night. The latest mini-drama had revolved around Kevin Durant and his recent uncharacteristic silence. The Silence of Durant finally ended after nine days, following the Warriors’ 141-109 demolition of the San Antonio Spurs. Durant lashed out at the media. “Why do you care?” he asked a reporter who queried why he hadn’t been talking. “I didn’t feel like talking the last couple of days.” Then he got to the apparent heart of the matter: his anger at a particular reporter with The Athletic.
